Well Jamez sounds like you have eather blown the soeakers or the output IC's inside the unit. If you have a meter you can simply disconnect the speakers and test the resistance of the speakers with an ohm meter. If you dont have an ohm meter then you can connect them up to another stereo or have them and the unit tested at a repair center. Sorry not really any serviceable parts in these systems. Good Luck

If you can hear a hiss then the spkrs and amp are OK. It sounds like you're not on whichever source you're wanting to hear or it is on mute. Make sure ther is no function enabled that turns the sound off or over-rides it (like a tape monitor or AUX in...).
