The transformer can't damage the new lamp. Faulty transformers normaly take out the driving transistors or the fusible link in the power supply, if these are good then just replace the lamp. Espacially if you know the lamp is bad (test it by swapping with the others if unsure)

If the capacitor on the ballast was puffed up or blown up you have to replace the lamp, ballast & SMPS at the same time. But if the ballast is not trying to fire the lamp it sounds like the color wheel is not coming up to speed. If this is the case, the set will not turn on.

No Picture But Sound

I have a HNL5065W samsung that i just repair if it was the lamp you would not get sound,When Lamp goes out set will not come on only Flashing front lights, how long does yours play before cutting OFF? There is a couple of capacitors that will go bad on power board,CK to see if any of the capacitors are puffed up on top if so thats your problem.,But remember Ballast starts up LAMP CK the big capacitor on ballast board and small ones ,also Keep in mind it could be Ballast,if set keeps playing with sound and no picture another thing make sure nothing has come unpluged on DMD board, this board also will keep lamp from firing.OK heres another thing IF COLOR WHEEL is not spinning correctly lamp will not fire up, if it spins to slow or too fast most samsungs start out with Bad Color Wheel.I Buy on E-Bay got My lamp for 85.00 Ballast board 55.00 Ballast board at other companys 117.00 plus shipping! Color Wheel was 65.00.

My HL-S4266W Samsung projection tv shut off by itself and all lights were blinking. The TV would turn back on but turn itself off after a few minutes. I replaced the bulb but this did not fix the problem....

Actually7 there's a possibility that your ballast is the one causing the problem, the thing is that with samsung tvs what goes bad most of the time, besides the lamp, are the ballast and the colorwheel, in this case my hopes are on the ballast, but if you want to be more sure discountdashmerchantdotcom

Tv lamp keeps blowing out

You need to replace the lamp ballast. You will need the full model number and version number to get the correct part. The numbers are located on the right side of the television.

Picture blinks out and in

If you haven't replaced the lamp recently, its the likely cause. If the lamp is known to be good, its possible that the ballast board (lamp driver/power supply) is defective. And, in some cases, the lamp door interlock switch may be the culprit. So make sure that the lamp door is properly aligned so the switch engages properly.

TV on/off

How long is your TV on before it turns off? Check the fans and make sure they are all working. The TV may be shutting off due to overheating if a fan quit working.

If you think the lamp is still good maybe try replacing the lamp ballast.

Did you order an ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT LAMP? There's lots of guys out there claiming to sell original lamps but there really not the original. For Samsung TVs (The majority of them) use Philips branded lamps. Check and make sure you lamp is a Philips lamp. Check out FixYourDLP blog for more information as there's lots o interesting reading there
