Donna, I haven't opened the box yet but found the manual online. Here it is. http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/SYL_SMPK8000_EN.PDF
Within the first few pages it tells you to download the music to your computer, connect the USB cable to the unit, then drag the music files to the unit. To get the music files to your PC, you can download music from a CD to your PC using Windows Media Player, but there are probably other ways as well. I had a terrible time getting the music into an Android Tablet so I returned it. This seems easier to use. I'm not an expert either.
For help to get music into your PC, you can go to YouTube.com and search on downloading music to your PC. Good luck.
delete them off the device and re sync them all over i have had the same issue with mine i bought from tigerdirect. if these files are mp3 that should do it. if they are downloaded legally they may have a protection on them that only let them transfer to certain devices. if they are mp3. move those music to a diff folder and start from scratch syncing them over
You cannot fix it, but if you must do anything see if yo could use a different usb on it. If it doesnt work then you need to change or return it to where you bought it.
This player will only recognize certain file types, and certain WMA files have restrictions that will allow you to play the song on your computer, but will not allow you to transfer it to an mp3 player. Your best bet is to get a music service that will only give you songs in mp3 format - it will give you fewer headaches. Once you have downloaded the songs onto your computer, you can use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs to your GPX. The full user's manual is available from GPX's website. Good luck!
Hey jankey mp3, According to information provided by the manufacturer, this MP3 player functions just like a normal USB flash drive. This means that the device should appear in the "My Computer" menu under either "Storage Devices" or "Removable Hardware." As such, you should be able to use the standard Windows "drag-and-drop" option to load music onto the player. Simply click on the music titles you want to add, drag them over the player, then drop the music files into that folder. If you would like more information, I would suggest referring to the owner's manual documentation for more detailed instructions or the following Centon website: http://www.centon.com/pmp/support Hope this helps you out. Sincerely, Aaron Go Ahead. Use Us.
