SOURCE: thermostat takes too long to cool down 1 degree

Thermostats don't cool or heat. They are just the control device that tells the furnance or AC to operate and register the present temperature and tell the furnance or A/C to shut off, once the desired temperature has been reached.

Most programmable thermostats will take at least 1-2 weeks to "learn" how long to run the furnance or A/C in order to reach the desired temperatures you've programmed into it, for the time you want it be that temperature. Variables such as extremely hot days and higher humidity will also affect your cooling system.

Give it a little time to self-learn and it should adjust itself after a week or two of operation. You might want to take some time to review and familiarize yourself with the owners manual to see what Hunter advises for setting up and using the thermostat.

You may need to have your A/C checked to see if you're running low on freon, or need to have the coils cleaned, need to change the air filter, etc.

Hope this helps and best regards!

RTH2310b thermostat not heating to temperature set, I turn it off and back on, it runs few minutes then shuts off not heating to temp set on thermostat

All thermostats have a "Differential" setting that causes the thermostat to turn off early as an energy saving feature to blow all the hot air out before the furnace fan shuts down. On some stats, there is a switch on the back for setting this and some have a programming choice for setting this time. Others have no setting but normally start the heat about 2 or 3 degrees below the set-point and shut it off 2 degrees above. In this case it would be called a 5 degree differential. Look for these as described and adjust it up 2 degrees if found. Good luck.

AC fan will not start

Hello, if the indoor fan is not kicking on then either the control board is bad, capcitor is bad or the motor itself is bad. One thing you can do is try bypassing the control board by jumping the L1 power wire with the high speed motor wire, if this starts the unit up then the board must be replaced. If not the motor is dead.

The heat will not turn on

If the fan is blowing with no heat, it is an indication you have an error code. Check the control board for a blinking light. If you find one, look on the wiring diagram that is pasted on the reverse side of one of the panels for a diagnostic chart. It will give you a starting point where to look for the issue. You can always jump the red and white wires on the thermostat and if the furnace starts, it's a bad thermostat. If not, look to the blinking light.

Heat was working until 2 days ago. When i turn on heat nothing happens not even the fan turns on. I have a bryant cant find the model type. There is aslo a blinking red light

Hello
First check that the main circut breaker is not blown.
Next be sure you have gas or fuel oil going to the heater.

On some units there is a reset button located in the furnace control panel or a small low voltage fuse could be blown.

If a reset button is there push it in.Check your documentation as to what would cause this to happen.

Need to know more information, like what kind of fuel you are burning, is it hot water or hot air, Is it doing anything? are ther any lights blinking? anything else you can tell us will help.

In the meantime, turn off the power and then turn it back on after a minute or so, it may get you going.

Thermostat says ''Aux heat on'' and buzzes when we turn on heat

You most likely have a heat pump, the aux heat (usually electric) comes on anytime the room temperature is 4 degrees below the thermostat setting. Does the buzz go off when the aux heat lite goes out? If the aux heat does not shut off then the primary heater (heat pump) is not putting out enough heat to satisfy the thermostat. I need a little more info. Do you have a heat pump? Is it working?
