How can I get into my ipod if I forgot my pass code?

you might have to reset it to factory settings

The 4th generation iPod is a portable media device that can play music, videos, and display photos.

Occasionally, you may run into issues with the iPod where the player has trouble working.

Restoring your iPod to its factory settings will often correct any software issues the player may have by wiping all of the data off of the iPod, and restoring its software to its original condition.

Restoring your 4th generation iPod can be done in just a few minutes, and requires the help of your computer.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the included USB cable, just as if you were going to sync it to add music or other data.

Launch iTunes if it does not launch automatically, and select your 4th generation iPod from the list of devices on the left side of the screen.

This will launch information about your iPod in the main iTunes window.

Click the "Restore" button in the middle of the iTunes window to begin restoring your 4th generation iPod to its factory settings.

Your computer may ask you to enter an administrative username and password to continue. A progress bar will then appear letting you know the status of the restore.

Wait for the progress bar on the screen to finish and then disconnect your 4th generation iPod.

The iPod is now restored to its factory settings.

You can reattach the iPod to your computer and set it up again, just as you did the first time you used it.

hope this helps

also you could try This works on iPod 5th gen

Hi my 16gb apple ipod doesnt work someone try to open my ipod by using wrong password so it tells ipod is disabled connect to itunes how can i solve this problem could u help me

You should connect it to your computer, I've actually never had this problem but I guess once your on iTunes it would reset the password and you could entry it normally. If it doesnt you could try to connect it to iTunes and then hitting the restore button. This will erase all your data and the put the latest back up you had on your computer in your iPod. Normally the information in the games and so would be erased. But contacts, notes and other apple-related apps will remain un-touched.

Ipod doesnt work

I think I know just the problem. The connection cord that came with the wall outlet charger can only be used for charging. You have to have the original apple cord in order for the computer to recognize it.

I had the same problem.

Locked forever

In the Apple Support Site, Apple notes that the "Screen Lock" function:
Allows you to set a 4-digit combination to prevent someone else from using your iPod while it is not attached to a computer. When an iPod is locked, you must enter the combination to unlock the screen. This feature is different from the Hold switch in that the Hold switch only prevents iPod from turning on accidentally -- not keeping snoops out. Screen Lock only locks users out of the user interface. It does not encrypt data on your iPod. For example, if you use Screen Lock and then connect your iPod to a computer, you'll be able to manage music on your iPod with iTunes and access all data on it in disk mode (contacts, notes, and any other files you have stored on the iPod). This supportdocument aso provides additional information on locking and unlocking the iPod. According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following:
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

For it to recongnize, maybe try:
1: go to control panel
2:add hardware
3:connect your hardware device and click "yes i have connected the hardware"
4:scroll down and select install new hardware device
5:select install hardware that i manually select from a list
6:scroll down to windows portable devices
7:and choose MTP device
this should make it so your ipod is now recognised by the computer

My itunes doesnt work

try connecting to another computer that has itunes. this sounds like it wont solve anything but for some reason i get errors sometimes and as soon as i connect to another computer and then connect to the original i dont get errors from the original computer i was trying to use.

if that doesnt work, hold the power and home button untill your ipod shuts off then turn it back on. this sometimes helps as a sort of reset for your ipod without losing any of your music or etc.
hope this helped!

My ipod doesnt turn on and nothing works... it doesnt charge and when i plugg it to the computer nothing comes up on itunes so i cant even restore it or anything, ive tried everything... please help

hi,
1. Make sure the Hold switch is off
2. Make sure the battery is charged
3. Reset iPod
4. Let iPod's battery drain
5. Update iPod's software
6. Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
7. Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
8. Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works.

IF all the above is checked and if ur ipod still remains same please take it to an apple store and check with them!..thank you!!..
