Zumo 550 has metro guide usa on it and need to switch to roads and recreation europe for a motorcycle trip. should be simple! have both cd's and gps and usb cable....not working. can't find direct explicit instructions on how to make it happen. help, please! thank you!
On my Garmin (another model but still) all changes to the installed
maps are performed through the Mapsource software. You activate and
deactivate what you want to have installed and then use the transfer
function.
Make sure you have enough memory for the maps you need to
have installed, maybe you need a little memory card like 2 GB or so, Mapsource should tell if there are any problems though.
Maybe your machine uses other software but I doubt it.
One more thing: I found it to be extremely much quicker and reliable to do the transfer directly onto the SD card through an USB adapter than through the cable, for some reason the cable slowed everything to a fault-prone crawl.
