Year old Symphony Winter evaporative cooler won't turn on, not even just the fan. Borrowed from friend, had to put on side to get in car.

Sounds like it's not getting power. Open it and check for an inline fuse or a reset button.Check the power cord for continuity first though, and make sure you're using a proven power outlet. It could be drawing too many amps, and tripping the circuit protection on that particular outlet.

Frigidaire Fas297r2a has power but won't turn on

Hello Chris - Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

· Check the power cord connection to the wall outlet is secure.

· Make sure that the house circuit breaker has not tripped.

· Try testing the air conditioner. Make sure the unit is turned off, Press the TEST button, you will notice a click as the BUTTON pops out. Then press the RESET button. Again, you will notice a click as the button engages, now turn unit on. If the LCDI plug does not reset the cord may be damaged.

· The "Cool" circuit has an automatic 3-minute compressor time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. And the fan will continue to run during this time.

· If the unit has been turned off and on rapidly or if the thermostat was changed to a lower number and then immediately turned back to a higher number the compressor may not start. You must turn the unit off and wait a minimum of 3 minutes for the unit to equalize before restarting.

If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

Heat surge amish heater turns off and trips reset button

Do NOT use this unit as is!.
My experience is you have to pay to ship it for repairs and if out of warranty you should buy another heater. All electric heaters use the same power for the same heat unless its a heat pump, so save money and buy $30 WalMart heaters.

I HAVE A FEDDERS AIR CONDITIONER MODEL AED24E7F-C THIS UNIT TRIPS THE RESET BUTTON ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE IT RUNS FOR HOURS OR DAYS ON END AND THEN TRIPS. IT TAKE AWHILE AFTER THAT BEFORE I CAN RESET...

The reset button is part of the cord. The cord has built in arc detection. This is a complex circuit that monitors the unit and senses potentially dangerous sparks or arcing inside the internal components of the A/C (motors, switches, etc.) It sounds like the problem is getting worse - as they usually do. Sparking and arcing happen when dirt, corrosion, etc. accumulates and can result in pitted contacts. All of these conditions only make the sparks and arcs worse. Page 1 of the manual (left column) says this:

If the Arc Detection Device has tripped, the
reset button will pop up.

Follow these steps to reset the Arc Detection
Device:

1. Unplug unit from electrical outlet
2. Press the reset button
3. Plug the unit back into electrical outlet
4. Check to see if power has returned to the unit

Testing

You should test the Arc Detection Device
equipped power cord monthly, after every major
electrical storm, or if power to your Room Air
Conditioner has been interrupted.

Follow these steps to test the Arc Detection
Device:

1. Unplug unit from electrical outlet
2. Press the reset button
3. Plug the unit back into electrical outlet
4. Press test button. Unit should trip and reset
button will pop up.
5. Press reset button again for use
If above test fails, stop using the air
conditioner and contact customer service by
calling the following toll-free number:
1-800-332-6658 or email:
customerservice@fedders.com

I hope this helps & good luck!

The compressor for the AC is probably on it's own circuit. The fan will come on but the compressor won't if the breaker tripped. Many times the breaker is outside by the unit. Lift the cover and reset it even if it looks like it's on

Good Luck

Panasonic large screen Model # PT-61LCX65

Here is the proceedure to replace the lamp and reset the lamp hours.
Lamp Replacement Procedure:
1. Press the POWER button to turn off the power.
2. Wait for about 1 minute until the cooling fan stops.
Note:
The lamp cooling fan will continue to operate for about 1
minute after the power is turned off. Do not unplug the AC
Cord from the outlet until the fan has stopped. Avoid
interrupting the power by using circuit breakers or switchable
power strips.
3. After the cooling fan has stopped, unplug the AC Cord from
the outlet.
Note:
Please wait more than one hour before replacing the lamp.
[ Forced cooling function ]
If you need to replace the lamp more urgently:
- The Projection display has a forced cooling feature.
After the POWER button is turned OFF, and during the
first minute of the normal cooling fan operation, press
the VOLUME UP button on the unit and CH UP key on
the remote at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
The cooling fan operates for about 10 minutes. (LAMP
LED will flash 5 times every 5 second and POWER LED
will flash red for 10 minutes.)
4. Remove the Front Cover Unit from the latches.
5. Turn the Knob to the left.
6. Pull the Lamp Cover out.
7. Loosen the Screw on the Lamp. Then, pull the Lamp.
Note:
Because the Lamp may still be hot, use caution when
handling.
8. Install the new Lamp, and tighten the Screw.
9. Install the Lamp Cover, and turn the Knob to the right.
10. Install the Front Cover Unit.
Lamp Time Reset Procedure:
Be sure to reset the Lamp time to "0" after replacing the new
Lamp.
1. Plug in the AC Cord, and turn on the power by pressing the
POWER button.
2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button on the unit and
the SPLIT key on the remote together for over 5 seconds
in power on condition.
When the reset is finished, the display will indicate that the lamp hrs have been reset to 0 and the LAMP LED goes out.

Ruud heat pump outside fan

You may be right in looking at the motor. It uses a different speed on heat than cool. The heat cycle uses low speed, usually red. Some manufactures use blue (medium). Cool uses black, high speed. If you are confident, switch the low speed wire with the high speed and see if this changes anything. If the fan motor isn't the problem, check the other setting (cool) if the overload trips, you may need to look into a new capacitor or compressor, if so, you can install a hard start kit. these are start boosters, and are inexpensice, sometimes they will give another year out of the comp. but I've put them on and they have lasted 5 years.
