Question about Onkyo TX-DS676 Receiver

1 Answer

Right front channel sometimes does not work

I have some problems with my Onkyo TX-DS676 receiver, sometimes when I power it up my right front channel is not producing any sound. Work-arround solution is to turn  to volume up to above 60 and then it starts working again also on lower volume. Does anybody know this problem and have suggestions?

Re: Right front channel sometimes does not work

You have dry solder joints in the output stages to the front channel.-solution. resolder channel.... or dirty speaker protection relay contacts. can be determined by tapping the top of the protection very gently when fault occurring. solution. burnish contacts and treat with crc2-26

Just want to know watts per channel in traditional stereo mode.

Im geusing this means not all channels driven, but in reality it will be the same as the left and right speaker output regardless of if its in multichannel mode, whenswicting between all it will do is bypass the ADC/DSP/DAC circuitry and use a relay to directmode, it will not turn off the other amps, only the input to them, so you have the same amount of power avaibly for the right a left channel which will be 110 watts at 0.08 THD at 8 ohms, which is **** anyway, if you want it for pure stereo and nothing else, buy a dedicated stereo amp.

Onkyo tx-SR605 - how do I use as a processor and

IF and only if, your receiver has connections labeled as "pre-out" can it be connected to an external amplifier.

If it does, then you connect from the left and right channels from the receiver, to the left and right channel on the amplifier.

Describe your Onkyo TX-SR875 7.1 Channels Receiver Problem All right channels are not working. Left channels including center channel speaker is working. Please advise.

Recommend changing your FINAL drive AMP IC most house BOTH right and left channels, your drivers right channel input is good cuz it is used to make the left channel signal

Onkyo TX-DS 595 receiver surround channel unrealiable

How you power off the amp won't hurt it generally. I used to fix ONKYO amps under warranty, and I can tell you now, it will be full of dry solder joints. Take you unit to your local repairer, and they will resolder all the offending PCB's inside. This type of repair will fix 99% of strange audio noises and cutting in and out etc. for ONKYO recievers. Otherwise this is quite a good product.

power down the amp totally to reset processor, then try again. If still no go, may have blown internal fuses- replace and try again
.... or failed thermal fuse in mains transformer. this is a workshop repair as it involves mains voltage that can kill :)
