Question about HP Photosmart 435 Digital Camera

All pictures deleted, still claims to be full

I just deleted all images on my camera, but when I wanted to use it again, it claimed memory was full. I hooked it up to the pc where it shows as a seperate drive, and claimes to have no free space. There are no images there.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused this is that I may not have shut down the external device properly before disconnecting it from the computer. Is there a way to fix it..?

There is nothing wrong with your digital camera. You just have to format your memory card to get rid of the data debris that has been living on that chip for a long time now.

Camera works oddly..

Format the card again.

The memory card should be formatted each time you finish transferring your pictures to your computer, in order to avoid exactly this type of situation.

When I connect my Lumix DMC FZ45 to my Laptop, I am unable to delete images on camera card with Laptop software, because it is "write protected". How can I change this?

Look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I recommend against deleting images on the card via your computer. If you want to delete a few pictures, do it from the camera. If you want to delete all of them, format the card in the camera instead. FixYa is full of people asking how to salvage pictures from cards which have undergone repeated write/delete cycles without formatting.

How to delete pictures?

To delete the images from the Camera, press the Play button on the Camera to view the images. Display the images which you want to delete and press the DELETE button (Recycle Bin icon) located below the lower left of the Control buttons.
To delete multiple images, slide the index lever and select with the control buttons.
While the index screen is displayed, press the Delete button and select the images with the control buttons and select Enter button. Now, select the images which you want to delete and press the Enter button to display the Delete icon on the images. Press the Delete button again to delete all the images.
You can also delete all the images in the folder by selecting All in this Folder to delete the images.
To delete all the images in the Memory Stick you can select the Format option from the Internal Memory Tool or the Memory Stick Tool Menu to Format the Internal Memory or the Memory Stick.

When i turn on my camera it says internal memory is full and I cannot take pictures

Hi there Gloria,

Your camera might be using the internal memory in saving those pictures.

You can press the Review button and press the left and right arrow to view the previous, next picture or video. You need to press the Delete button in each of them that you wan to delete. You might want to transfer your pictures and videos on the computer first before deleting them.

Then to set the memory card for the camera to save those images instead of the internal memory, just press Menu, then press either up or down button until you see Image Storage. Choose Auto; this option chooses the memory card if it is inserted on the camera.

Hope this helps.

How do i get the pictures from my camera to the memory card

the question I ask is why would you want to do this?

The camera has XX Mb of memory in case the card becomes full. Generally one downloads the pics on to a PC and deletes the Camera files to start again

If you want to keep the pic files in memory and save them tpo your pc. remove the card for safety.. Interrogate your camera via the connection cord and the software it came with. Download the folder with the pics in memory to your PC. Then delete the files on the camera. Insert the SD card and In menu, set up to save files to SD card rather than memory while there is space.

My camera deleted all of the pictures on my memory card. It was constantly telling me that my ''memory card was full'' when I knew that it was not possible. I messed around a little with the menu,...

You should not have performed a low level format on the camera with the card still inserted as all the data is wiped from the camera and the SD card and can be a common occurrence.
You may be able to recover the pictures from the card but you will need data recovery software and a computer that you can put the card directly into.
If you unsure how to recover data then i suggest that you take the card to a reputable computer repair store and ask them to recover the pictures for you.

Olympus 790SW 7.1 MP reads full 1GB memory card is full after 2 pictures

Suggestion is to format the memory card and permanently delete all of the images from it. The card should then be able to be reused and you can start taking images again. To format the card go to Menu - setup and press ok - go to format and press ok - go to yes and press Ok. This will clear the card and you are back in business.

New camera "memory full"

You need to get a mem stick, you are using the internal memory on the camera which is more than likely very small.

XD Card Not Read by Computer

Hi cruyf, It sounds as if the data (pictures) on your memory card has become corrupted. There are lots of programs that claim to be able to recover deleted files. These are corrupted files so I?m not sure how well they will do. The first program I reference will show you what it can recover but if you want to get the images you have to pay $40 to activate the software. I?ve used this before and it worked for me but be aware there are lots of other programs, some free. Here is the link: Here is another that claims to be able to recover both deleted and corrupted files: After you have pulled your pictures off the card (or if you give up) you should use the cameras format utility on the card before you use it again. I?ve had this problem on memory cards before and this has fixed my problem. Let us know how it goes and don?t forget to rate the posting.
