RESET PASSWORD my little brother changed the password on are acer aspire 5610z and now he doesn't remember what it is and we cant log in please help me

Follow my steps:
Step1:Download Windows Password Reset from http://www.windowspasswordreset.net and install it.
Step2:Burn Windows Password Reset ISO file to CD/DVD,or USB.
Step3:Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows Password.

I would suggest accessing your account and then changing the password.

There is a hidden Administrator account that is created when your operating system is installed. Access that account and then reset your password.

1. Boot your computer and press F8 repeatedly
2. Access Safe Mode
3. Key in "Administrator" in Username, with no password.
4. Go to Control Panel, then User Accounts
5. Select the account you want to reset the password
6. Change the password

or better still can you ask the guy if he set a password on it

Can't remember Windows password? I have forgotten my login password for my Acer Win 7 laptop. I used Windows Password Recovery Tool to help me finally! It is really a useful tool!

1. you will need your Acer recovery disk
   

2. insert into CDROM tray
   

3. Restart the Acer Aspire. When Windows boots up, select the username you want to reset the password for and press "Enter."
   

4. Click "Use your password reset disk" to launch the password reset wizard. The password reset wizard enables you to create a new password for your user account.
5. Click "Next" on the password reset wizard and insert the password reset disk. Click "Next." Type your new password in the "Type a new password" box and type the password again in the confirmation box.
6. Type a hint to you use in case you forget your password next time. Click "Finish" to activate your new password. Restart your computer and log on to Windows using your new password.

Ok,
let it get to the user log-in screen, hold down Ctrl and Alt and hit the Del key twice, a new log-in screen should appear, in the top box type administrator and leave the password blank and click ok.
See if it lets you in the administrator account and then please post back

Are you logged into windows or just the bios settings?
Are you running XP or Vista?
If you are in XP and you logged in by another user name and don't have and files under the Admin account I wouldn't worry about it as long as you have Admin priv on the user name you are logged in under.

Remove the battery . Short the grounding strips made for this purpose on the mother board,or the battery terminals,if you can't find the strips.  Reinsert the battery and the pass word will be gone. 

There is a way of resetting the administrator password.
You need to use a so-called 'emergency boot cd' which uses a little piece of software to check and reset the password on the machine.

If still unsuccessful, try contacting Acer for the Restore cd/dvd if you don't have it, and do a clean reinstall of the machine. Or use a Windows XP OEM disk of the same kind (Home/Professional) and use the OEM key on the sticker on the bottom of the PC to do a clean reinstall. The last possibility doesn't install all drivers, so you'll have to download and install them from the Acer website. Don't forget: no drivers = no internet connection on the pc, so first of all download the drivers, put them on a USB stick or cd, and then reinstall the machine...

There are two places when you may be asked for a password - can you please clarify which one it is.

1. The BIOS password which will ask you for a password BEFORE you see the Windows loading screen
2. The Windows password, which will ask you for the password after the computer has started, but before you can see your desktop.

There is a reasonably easy solution for both of these.
