open a new document and type in the address where it would be on an envelope
when you have it in the center of the document go to print and see where it is on the preview
now while in that area click on page margins and move the margins to around what you have on the preview
then set as default
that should mean that what ever is going to be printed will appear in that part of the page or in this case the envelope as the printer and program is set to margins and everything inside those margins will be in the right place
basically it is trial and error but what you want to do is in that section of printing
2. When you select print go to preferences. From there you will need to set the paper type to envelope. On the application side, you will typically need to make sure your document size is that of an envelope.
Envelopes can be printed from tray 1 or 2. Select the type of envelope you are using from the PRINT dialog box or the driver. In your program, set the margins. Typical margins for a commercial #10 or DL envelope would be: Return Address Top margin 15mm(0.6 Inch) Left margin 15mm(0.6 Inch), Delivery Address Top margin 51mm(2 Inches) Left margin 89mm(3.5 Inches). For the best print quality, position margins no closer than 15mm (0.6 Inch) from the edges of the envelope. Avoid printing on the seams of the envelope. Envelopes with a peel-off adhesive strip or more than one flap that folds over to seal must use adhesives that are compatible with the heat and pressure of the printer fuser. the extra flaps and seals can cause wrinkling, creasing and feed jams, could even damage the fuser.
its possible you dont have the right margins set, so it is printing outside the borders of the envelope. check also your printer drivers to make sure its set for envelope, and also, generally the envelope goes in at length, not the width. thanks
have you adjusted the page setup on your software? I'm assuming you're using Word to print a mail merge. yes?
Check that the margins are setup properly in the "word document" Go undetr file, page setup, and confirm the envelope size is set properly. Check the page setup in the printing preferences. File, Print, Printing Preferences.
The printer accepts whatever margins microsoft word tells it to use.
Be sure you have set the PRNIT PREFFERENCES on your program that you are using to print the envelope to accept a #10 envelope and not 8.5x11 paper, you ALSO must set the PRINTER PREFERNECE to MANUAL FEED and not automatic so it won't look to the paper tray.
You can try using Microsoft word in printing on envelopes, it is easier. On my MS word>tools>letters and mailings>envelopes and labels>click on feed and use the fourth from the left option.
Load the envelope at the right side of the printer> the envelope flap should be on the left facing the printer.
This would depend upon the software you wish to use. For instance MS Word has an envelope printing utility built in. Access it through TOOLS > LETTERS & MAILINGS > ENVELOPES & LABELS, use the HELP feature to read help info on the settings required.
If you wish to use a simlple text editor like Word pad, simply set the PAGE SETUP settings to reflect the media you are using; for instancce set paper size to ENVELOPE C5, and then the margins to something like
Left = 60
Right = 100
Top = 80
Bottom = 50
Click OK and this will then mean when you print your document the text will be kept toward the center of the envelope.
Change the envelope and margins to whatever suits you best.
Slip the envelope into the printer (face up and flap to the bottom) and push the guard up. You should be good to go.
