Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
My laptop dell inspiron 6400's battery timing has deteriorated. it now gives me almost 15 minutes of normal usage without the adapter connected to a power outlet. i need help, as i dont want to spend my pocket money on buying a new battery!!!! any suggestions on how to increase it????
The battery is degrading so you have no choice but use it on AC power for the time being until you have saved up enough money for a new one, you will not be able to increase the charge.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is how the electronic world goes.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

If you know how to work a soldering iron and you have tools like screwdrivers etc.
You could replace the rechargeable batteries inside the battery case. Note that you will need the right kind of batteries for it. depens alot of whats inside it.
Do it at your own risk, reseach online for how to guides.
I wont post you a guide just because if someone messes it up their going to blame me, so do your own research online and I think you might be able to get the battery good as new by replacing the batteries inside.
At your own risk, becarefull and don't take shortcuts, do it with care make sure you got the right parts etc before soldering them in place etc. read atleast 1-3 guides on the topic.

Well your going to need to run this computer with ACPI and that means every 5 mins with no use the thing will go to sleep, otherwise grab deep into your pockets and get a battery
