When transfering to copy data on to disc/tape these indicators also appear on the copy/tape. and I cannot seem to remove them from any mode. I have been through the instruction book time and time again but fail to pin point the section for removal/delete Thanks in antisipation Paul Kiley UK

    Hi e-Guru

    1. I have tried the factory reset...icons still appear

    2. I have no general settings within the menu...only Camera, and basic settings

    3. The Camera mode displays that covers Zoom and tele Macro only.

    4. The basic settings display the sub menu for.....remote/drop dectection/preset/demo mode/operation sound/

I cannot find on this camera the areas that you have stipulated within the Menu. Eg TV etc does not show within my set ups

    Icons still being displayed

    Please advise

    Hello Joe 7379,

Thanks for your input and comments, and my answer to these are..

    1. Icons always displayed

    2. I have found after reading the idiots guide yet again(intruction book) a DATE / DISPLAYsymbol that will then put you into a sub menu for DISPLAY(i+) that displays On /Off question........getting there slowly.

    3. On choosing the Off position that says.....Turns off the on-screen display ...this does the trick and the icons are removed from the screen.....yipeee!!

    4. The moment that I pressed the record button, the icons appeared back on the screen and was displayed on playback..........back to square one!!

    Any ideas???

Hi there, Did this problem just start happening? I know on certian JVC camcorders what you see on screen is what you get on tape and disc. I had a JVC Everio and it did the same thing when trying to copy form the hard drive to direct CD. I bought a newer version of the same camera a year later and it did not have that format but allowed me to select what was put onto disc. Try turning off all the displays on screen and see if it still sows when you copy it to disc. If so it may just be the way the machine is.

Hi,

Try two troubleshooting steps and it should help to get rid of the indicators and icons.

1) Do a factory reset.
2) Replace the coin like battery.

or

This one is easy and I'm sure you've figured it out by now but all you have to do is press the MENU button and go into the GENERAL SETTINGS (the picture of the wrench and screwdriver/spatula). If you scroll up or down eventually you'll see the setting for DISPLAY between SELECT TV TYPE and DISPLAY ON TV. After that it should be a piece of cake.

Thank You

Ro record, and no image in the screen on the camera JVC GZ-MG50E

I answered same problem like you have now. Just in case you don't find it. I hope you are familiar with these things technically. Open the set up-to where the lens can be accessed, remove the iris unit and clean those two curtain(shutter), for sure it's stucked up. You san test it by moving it open manually and it must close when released. To clean, you have to remove these curtain out from the assy. Spray with head cleaning agent or any alcohol base cleaner and dry.Test iris unit first to make sure its ok before assembling. Good Luck

The problem I am facing is,

it says the lens cap is there & remove it, though there is no lens cap.

This seems to me that something is wrong with shutter or there are some mechanical problem.

Both for VDO & Still - the problem is same.

Can anyone help me to solve this problem.

Thanks & Regards.
