The water in the bottem of the machine under the mesh filter is normal. it acts as a lubricant for both motor impeller and drain propeller. if its greasy then try using only 1 tablespoon of powder soap from now on. now if the water level is ever above the mesh filter after a complete cycle, then you have a drain problem

How to make dishwasher drain? Water stands in bottom after washing. Also has buzzing sound!

Most likely you have something hard that got past the filter and got stuck in the drain pump, keeping the impeller from turning. Unplug the dishwasher. Siphon or vacuum out the water from the dishwasher. Remove the toe-kick panel(s) to get to the drain pump. Look carefully for a realease tab to press, then rotate the drain pump 1/8th to 1/4th turn to release it. Check for and clean out any foreigh objects, then re-assemble.

Clean a Dishwasher

How To Clean A Dishwasher
  1. Using a small brush (old toothbrushes work well) dipped in hot water and white viniger, go around the door of the dishwasher taking care to get into the grooves and crevices of the rubber seal. Most likely, you'll be surprised at the debris that has built up, especially at the bottom of the door and around the hinges on the side.
  2. Pull the bottom rack out and examine the drain area. Wipe around it to be sure there are no hard chunks that can plug the drain, cause damage to the pump or scratch dishes. You'd be surprised at what dishwasher repairmen find - bones, crab shells, chips of glass, and even small pieces of gravel!
  3. Using a clean wet sponge or dishrag, wipe the cleaning solution from the gasket and the door.
  4. Then place a dishwasher-safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. Using the hottest water available, run the dishwasher through a cycle - except for the cup of vinegar, the dishwasher needs to be empty.
  5. The vinegar will help to wash away the loose, greasy grime, sanitizes, and helps remove the musty odor.
  6. Baking soda is also effective at freshening and brightening your dishwasher. Just sprinkle a cupful around the bottom of the tub and run it through a short but complete cycle using the hottest water. Baking soda is also helpful in removing stains.

Whilpool gu2300xt,wash cycle lights wont light, when i push start button goeswt calcell and drain and you can here drain pump then it shuts off

It is likely there is some fault with the float switch. Which means the dishwasher thinks it is overfilled with water and tries to empty out to protect itself. This is why the pump turns on as soon as you try to run the dishwasher. Refer diagram. You need to check if the float (12) spring is responding by pressing it down and checking if it comes up. Also level switch could be faulty.

Siemans sl33a dishwasher won't drain, interior is scummy

My Siemens runs constantly, for hours, and doesn't drain all the water from the bottom. Is this also a "clogged drain" issue or is there something else wrong?

Dishwasher not working.... when i close the dishwasher and turn it on i can not hear any water running and there is a pool of water at the bottom that will not drain

Hello, How long has your dishwasher been do this? Have you washed dish's in it? Also, these German made dishwasher run on less than 2 1/2 gallons of water. These German manufactured dishwasher machines run really quite. Because of the German water conservancies laws. They limit the amount of water dishwasher and washing machine can use. Also, there is no storage hot water system in there homes, it on demand hot water. You can't hear the motor running and about the only thing one can hear is maybe the water washing the dishes.

Now, the water at the bottom of the dishwasher, if the drain isn't connected up under is the sink drain and trap area or the garbage disposable in the sink. but some place lower on the drain pipe. You will not have a spiffing effect on the the bottom of the dishwasher, it the same with washing machines. One the discharge pump starts sucking air, it will not drain the dishwasher. The siffen effect works if the water is below the outlet for the drain. Example: Home owner have the new washing running and continue fill with water. Why, because the drain pipe end is below the the bottom of the washing machine tub. It fill up with water and siffen action continues emptying the tube will it still filling. One heck of a water bill.

Water wont drain out of bottom of tub. The dishwasher works fine, it just wont drain the dirty water out. If I restart it to wash again, the dishes are washed in the dirty water.

Hi,
A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.
Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.
Thank you !!

Before loading into the machine you have to remove food particles. Washer will wash the greasy surface. If particles are left in the dishes, the same will find entry to the drain system. Check the drain filter in your machine. Clean them. Mostly problem will be solved!
