This problem happened once and since we have been watching carefully. It is working for the time being. It also fails to fill in rinse cycle sometimes.

You should also look into other means to prevent the house from being flooded. Search the internet and talk to big box stores and plumbers for solutions. Mold growing in the house walls is far more costly than a new machine.

1 of two problems happened.
1) either the water level sensor went bad. Which tells the water inlet valve when to shut off and the machine to start operating.
2) The water inlet valve has failed. This comes from the water hose and fills the washing machine.

If it is having problems wanting to not fill in the rinse cycle then this sounds like a timer issue. Which could cause flooding. We had a problem at our house where actually it was flooding from drain in the house was broken and not allowing the water to drain properly. So that is just another recommendation to look for.

What does E2 mean? Thanks

Hi, E2 means that anti flood device has been activated. The machine has overfilled.
Check in the base (under the bit you put the dishes in) to see if it's flooded. The causes for overfilling are blockages in the metering tank, blockages in the system hoses.
Drain the water out of the base and try the machine again. If it overfills you'll need to take the machine out, do a fair bit of dismantling to get at the hoses etc. to clear the blockages.

Icemaker in refrigerator overfills with water

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips after it is supposed to stop, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Pressure switch - it measures the weight of the water (in bars) and tells the valve to close.

Check/replace it.
