You only have to replace that plate if you were having a problem with it, leaking. Usually you just have to replace the tank, even tho there is a new plate that comes with it. There ate 3 screws on the back of the handle that holds that plate on. The 3 tubes, just pull them off, then re-install them on the same tubes on the new plate. If you do replace the plate, don't forget to take off the metering plate and put it on the new one.

How do I hook up the upholstery attachment on a Hoover Spin Scrub 50?

To connect the upholstery tool, first remove the clean water tank by pressing down on the handle and pulling the tank forward. Remove the hose from the storage rack. Press down on the handle release lever and lower the handle to the ground. Unlatch the back part of dirty water tank and remove the lid. Pull the dirty water tank's front panel up about an inch and rotate the panel to parallel with the floor. Replace the panel with the converter and slide it halfway down until it is firmly in place. Pull the collar on the connecting tube towards the tube so that the black tabs are fully extended. Open the door on the hood labeled Stair/Upholstery cleaning connection and press the round solution tube onto the round projection. Press the collar firmly to ensure that the tube is connected. Replace the tank in a hinge-like manner and place the lid under the tabs on the front of the tank. Rotate the lid down onto the tank.

Now slide the upholstery tool on the connector of the hose until the tab locks into place.

The manual for the Spin Scrub 50 is available on the Hoover product page: http://hoover.com/products/details/fh50044/steamvac-spin-scrub-50-carpet-washer-with-tools/ . The direct link to the manual is http://hoover.com/file/1195/ . The directions are on page 14-15.

I hope this helps.

Hoover steam vac has no suction, blowing air from middle of bottom

Assure the ring gasket is in place under the hood. A round rubber gasket must be in place on the round tube under the hood where the recovery tank sits to connect the vacuum from the motor to the round tube on the bottom of the tank.

Make sure the tank lid is aligned to the recovery tank to seal, and assure the square panel is in place on the front of the recovery tank that connects the vacuum of the tank to the clear nozzle plate.

Hoover carpet cleaner not picking up water

Assure the ring gasket is in place under the hood. A round rubber gasket must be in place on the round tube under the hood where the recovery tank sits to connect the vacuum from the motor to the round tube on the bottom of the tank.

In addition, make sure the recovery tank lid is properly aligned to the tank to seal.

Lastly, make sure the square duct is latched in place in front of the recovery tank, that links the nozzle plate to the tank lid.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5866-900 SteamVac Deluxe Wet/Dry. You probably have 2 problems, #1. The trigger assm may be loose or broken and is not releasing the solution from the water solution tank or #2. The valve under the water solution tank could be shot or broken. If so, then the water solution tank is one assm and you would need to purchase a new or a good used one to replace. Please, feel free to check with your local vac dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

There are 2 filters, make sure they are clean, one is on the tank lid, the other is from the bottom, it is red, pull it out and clean it. If yours has a foam filter on the tank lid covering the yellow ball, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. Also make sure that the lid in on and secured tightly.

The clean water tanks leaks. What's causing the problem?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum. You can down load the owner manual from the Hoover website www.hoover.com . It looks like the one of the holding or recovery tanks my not be in place, leaking, cracked or damaged, or the clear tube is leaking and needs replacing. I looked 2 the owner’s manual and it does not show the clear tube but the vacuum does come apart and just back track the clear tube and mark the screws when you disassemble the unit. Other wise , please call the factory or a local Hoover warranty station in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Water leaking

The tank is probably cracked at the bottom and will have to be replaced, part #38777075, sells for around $60. If not the tank, then check to make sure the 2 or 3 tubes are attached to the plate that the tank sits on. Check the valve at the bottom of the tank to make sure it is there, if there push it to see if it moves up then down by itself, valve asm #43513015.
