Question about Canon ZR100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I have a 1 1/2 year old camcorder. It worked fine until the other day when, for no apparent reason, it won't show anything on the screen. It won't play a previously recorded mini dv nor will it record anything new. Also, it makes an unusual noise - it makes sort of a rhythmic whine. While it's on play or record, the screen indicates that the tape is moving, but there is a hum or high-pitched "whine" every 4 seconds or so - it's a very regular sound that continues until the power is turned off. I have tried to use the camcorder with both recorded and new tapes, and the result is the same either way. I have tried it on battery and plugged into a power source. Any suggestions?
I just fix mine. i have use a minidv cleaning tape which did not work right away. i used the other fixing method the tapping the other side did not work away.what i did is i just insert eject different tape and it just work at first there are some gray lines with different color i thought it was the head and i use the cleaner again did not work. i just play the tape for 15 to 20 mins while pausing and playing and the gray thing slowly fading and the picture just return to normal.i think there's something wrong with the cam don't know what.hope this helps.
