Intel MHD 4500 Dedicated memory

I have a laptop with Core Duo 7500 with intel mhd4500/x4500 chipset.
The chipset have 797MB shared memory and 64MB dedicated memory,
1st, I heard that this chipset shared memory is somehow based on the RAM, can someone explain to me?
2nd, can i increase the dedicated memory,(**i mean use the shared memory as dedicated**),
Before i have another laptop with intel gma 945 chipset, (*i cant remember how much shared memory the chipset have*), the laptop with gma 945 have 64 mb dedicated memory to, but the bios have setting to set the dedicated memory to 128 MB, i think it uses the shared memory as dedicated memory, but this options is not available with my new laptop with mhd4500.
Is there any way to change the dedicated memory???

oo..ok.. Now I understand.. Maybe the first laptop with gma945 have 128 MB dedicated,, maybe the setting is to reduce the dedicated memory to use as shared.

But for the first question, how can my friend with the same chipset have 19xxMB shared memory??...

"Based on RAM" that I mean is the chipset memory the computer have, I read, the memory amount if mhd 4500 depend on the RAM.

    What does that mean???...

For your first question...dedicated memory is only the memory that is always going to be used as part of running your video card. Unless your computer is pushed to its limits RAM wise, you should be fine. So with your first chipset 64mb of ram will always be used to run your video card. the 797mb is shared meaning it will fluctuate depending on your video cards needs. For your seconds question, no your really cannot. Unless you want to risk completely screwing up for computer by modifying your bios. You really do not need more dedicated memory unless you are having preformance problems, then i would recommend a whole new laptop. The 64mb vs 128mb dedicated memory in bios could be an error or your video card might actually have 128mb dedicated memory. Anyway if you ahve anymore questions fel free to contact me. Best of luck

I am looking to buy a motherboad for hp pavilion part number 459565-001

Let's start off the week talking about Apple laptop motherboards! However, there is some good news for you mac user's but unfortunately some bad news about the notebook if your A1181 model contains the 820-1889-A logic board using the Intel Penryn setup.
The good news is Apple's new line of MacBook and MacBook Pro's come with the latest Penryn Intel Core 2 Duo processor, standard larger hard drives and most models already come with 2GB of memory standard out of the box. The bad news is that they do have a tendency to breakdown in the strangest ways, which in return requires you to repair or replace the laptop motherboard.
I receive a decent amount of e-mails about apple motherboards mostly about how the biggest issue seems to be that people are having a hard time figuring out where to even begin due to the lack of information provided by Apple and even on the internet.
The 820-1889-A PC main board do share a few very nice features - first and foremost it's made and used only for 2.1GHz to 2.5GHz (Penryn) CPU chipsets. All the logicboards have four wall connectors - Now they come standard with 667MHz memory support - You will find that this specific part number has one (8W) FireWire 400 port and two USB 2.0 ports (which come standard in the whole A1181 series).
13.3" White Using a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
The 13.3" and 15.4" White / Black with a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz.
Finally all 15.4" and 17" LCD models which have the 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Which is better laptop deal?

Hi !!

Ofcourse 2.4 ghz is better than 2.1 ghz but its not a very big difference if price difference is more than 100$ than go for first one else second one is good and the most important thing i want to mention is that it all depends upon your needs you havent mention for what purpose you are going to purchase. But both are enough for gaming, daily use and for techie as well.

Hope that helps
Thanks
