Open right cover, and front cover. Remove toner bottle assembly (not just bottle), unplug drum (photoconductor) connector. Press the gray/silver release tab and slide out drum. Install and plug in new unit, replace toner assembly, close covers, and the new unit is automatically detected and calibration will begin.

What is a photo conductor

The photo conductor is the round drum unit that is light sensitive. The laser in the printer writes an image of what you want to print on the drum and then the toner is applied to the drum and transferred to the paper.

How to clean Ricoh Aficio MP 2000

sounds like either drum blade has fail or drum is bad. try printing the counter report and see if it is doing this. Then photo conductor unit needs to be rebuilt or replace. open right side door and look at drum make sure you don't touch it and see if toner is on it. If so drum blade has fail. call a tech or buy new photo conductor unit. this are good for approx 60,000 copies but sometimes will go longer age also play with drum blade life. were you might have 20,000 copies but unit is 5 years old

Lanier 5622 says following output tray is full please remove paper. However it can be empty, half full, or completely full of paper and this error will not go away. Just replaced the photo conductor...

Hello!
Why did you change the fotoconductor Unit???? This part of the machine is to create the image.
Your problem is in the tray. Meaby a broken switch. Take out the all tray and look inside to see if there is same obstruction.
If you do not see anything i advise you to call a Tech.

Dont waste more money if you dont know what your doing. This is the best advise i can give you.

See you!

I have a Lanier LP226cn printer. Under the alert status it is telling me to ''Prepare a New PCU'' and ''Replace CPU Black Soon'' I understand it means to replace my Black Toner soon as someone mentioned...

Sorry, You do not need Black toner, you need a Black PCU (Photo Conductor Unit).
I have this same printer with the same warning.
Unfortunately, This unit seems to be rather expensive.
Good Luck

After a few copies are made, black streaks start showing up on the copies and gets worse with each successive copy

for most copier those black streaks are caused by poor cleaning of the Photo Conductor Drum these can be fix by replacing the cleaning blade. after replacing them clean the Photo Conductor Unit and make some test copies.

Lanier Printer

You need to change the 'Photo Conductor Unit'. Some of these units are rated at 200-250 hours of use and need to be changed. Shop around and try to find a good deal, these units are not cheap.
You didn't state what type or model you have, but you can download the support user manual from lenier website.

Check your photo conductor (drum) unit. This is often caused by an old or light damaged unit.

Color Photo Conductor Unit

the vertical line that you saw is an indication of either it is normally worn out, or something has caused the scratched, by any material ( PC drum is very sensitive to any material and can easily damaged or scratched any solid and unwanted dirt inside) see you actual meter reading. if it falls on the first thousand copies or print then it might have caused by a scratched, if it falls beyond the PM parts repalcement then there is nothing you can do but to replace this.

sometimes you can swap the colors, by the affected color use the yellow drum unit to the affected drum, the vertical would not that be obvious.
