Try uninstall/reinstalling audio driver. if it fails contact Dell tech support possibility that the internal speaker is already loose/broken.

There is nos sounds in headphones and the laptop internal speakers in dell inspiration n5010 laptop

Hi sabdulla1974...
Try this solution to your problem.
Look for the speaker icon on your desktop in the right bottom portion of the sceen.
Also when you find it, RIGHT click on it, you will have two choices to make, choose and check each one of the choices to make sure that NONE of the boxes on each
choice has a checkmark in Mute,if there is a check mark then uncheck it.
NOTE:In "Open Volume control: you will find slider to adjust for volume,Wave,CD Player, etc.
After that is down, then LEFT click on the speaker icon and make sure that the slider is all the way to the top and that the Mute does not have a check mark,if it does remove the check.
If that does not work then re-install the audio driver for your computer.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

My sister in law was messing with my Dell Inspiron 1505. I now cannot get the sound to work. I don't know what she loaded but when I start the computer it says it found new hardware, but the wizard...

Hello, i think you have to check if she muted it on the task bar line, by double clicking it and checking it. Or you can also check from; right clicking on the my computers and clicking on manage then click on device manager, scroll to where you see sound and double click it and see if it is disabled or enabled.

Hi,

You can use the function button in your keyboard + Mute sound button in the top keyboard rows to mute and unmute the sounds.

No sound from the speakers with my dell laptop inspiron 700m I trouble checked everything.I have the sound when I plug my headset. Is it a sound card or a driver problem? Can I download another driver?...

Fred if you get sound to your headset from the same port you get no sound for your speakers, it is the speakers and not your headset. Are there any speaker lights on at all? If not maybe your power supply for the speakers is bad.Try a different set of speakers in the same computer and see what happens. If they work, the speakers are bad. Otherwise you have some strange connection problem.

The static noise may be a defect. If your laptop is still under warrent, contact dell for a warrenty replacement. I had the same problem with my inspirion. Sigmatel

Sound problem

Couple of thoughts:
1) is mute on?
2) is the volume turned too low?

- assuming you have XP for the following -

3) if you open the control panel and go to 'sounds and audio devices', make sure the volume is 25-50%. Click advanced button and put all volume sliders at 25-50%. Make sure none of the 'mute' boxes are checked.
4) Right-click 'My Computer' and click 'manage'. From the list at the left, click 'Device Manager'. On the list at the right, is there any items under 'sound, video, and game controllers' that have a yellow exclamation or red x on them? If so, you'll likely need to reinstall the audio drivers.
