Also the green color is drooping and will not line up with the red and blue. I am thinking about buying a green CRT system on Ebay but it is from a kp-61hs10. The part looks exactly the same but I'm looking at a picture so I can't be sure. I'm going to try to match the part numbers but I have to take my tv apart again. Anyway if you can think of another way to fix this problem or if you know what the error code means plaese let me know. Thanks

With your TV in setup Use a small magnet to "move" the non converged Red, Blue, or, Green color lines "crosses" (each CRT will need to be adjusted in turn) by moving the magnet close to the offending Red, Blue or,Green color CRT yoke or, tube while observing the movement of the CRT color line "cross" in a mirror ( try several places near the tube and, several strengths of magnets:) a refrigerator sheet magnet works well (you can cut these with a scissors to make a better fit or, apply less magnetic "pull." by making them smaller (you may need more than one magnet per tube to fix each CRT's convergence) When you have each CRT tube's convergence right, apply some clear silicone adhesive to the magnet and, permanently affix the magnet to the now "fixed" CRT tube exactly where you placed the magnet to obtain the best convergence on the CRT. (Do not adjust the "Green" CRT unless you must, as it is used as the color line to adjust other lines to)
TAKE OFF THE FRONT PANEL AND FIND THE FOCAS ELECTRONIC FOCAS CONTROLS. USUALY BETWEEN THE LEFT SPEAKER AND THE FIRST CRT GUN. PAUSE A DVD WHEN THE CREDITS GOING. OR USE A MENU IN YOUR SAT RECEIVER TO LOOK AT. USEING THE GRID IN THE TV SOMTIMES IS NOT ACCURATE. YOU WILL SEE 6 SMALL KNOBS (RED,GREEN,BLUE)FOCUS AND(RED,GREEN,BLUE)SCREEN DRIVE .FOLLOW THESE STEPS
1 TURNDOWN RED AND BLUE SCREENDRIVE
2 FOCUS THE GREEN (YOU SHOULD SEE SCANLINES)
3 TURN DOWN THE GREEN SCREENDRIVE
4 TURN UP THE RED SD UNTILL YOU SEE RETRACE LINES THEN BACK IT OFF TILL THEY ARE GONE.
5 FOCUS RED (UNTILL YOU SEE SCANLINES)
6 TURN RED DOWN AND TURN UP BLUE
7 FOCUS BLUE (BLUE WILL NOT BE AS GOOD AS RED+GREEN
NOW YOU ARE IN FOCUS, NOW YOU NEED TO GET SCREENDRIVE BACK
THE BEST WAY IS TO, PAUSE A DVD ON A BLACK SCREEN
SELECT PLAY MOVIE AND HIT PAUSE RIGHT AFTER . TURN ALL THE LIGHTS OFF IN THE ROOM AND USE A SMALL FLASHLIGHT TO ADJUST SCREENDRIVE SO YOU DONT MOVE FOCAS BY MISTAKE.
THE TRICK IS TO END UP WITH A VERY FAINT GRAY SCREEN WITH EACH COLOR UP AS FAR AS YOU CAN WITHOUT SEEING ANY COLOR ON THE TV. WHEN YOU GET THIS TRY PLAYING THE MOVIE. MAKE SURE THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST IN THE TV ARE AT A NORMAL LEVEL BEFORE YOU START . COLOR,BRIGHTNESS,AND FOCUS IS NOW SET TO YOUR DVD PLAYER.DO A FINAL CONVERGANCE AND YOU ARE DONE!
IF YOU CAN'T GET A COLOR TO FOCUS YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS MANUALY. SOME TV'S YOU CAN LOOSEN THE NUT ON THE CRT LENS AND MANUALY FOCUS IT. (LIKE AN OLD CAMERA). IF YOU GET THIS FAR YOU MIGHT AS WELL CLEAN THE LENS WITH A VINEGER BASED GLASS CLEANER (SPRAY THE RAG NOT THE TV) TAKE A LOOK AT THE MIROR, CLEAN IF NEEDED. IF THE MIRROR IS REAL DIRTY THEN THE SCREEN MUST BE BAD TOO.TAKE THE SCREEN OFF AND CLEAN THE BACK SIDE IF NEEDED. LOOK INTO THE LENS AT THE PICTURE TUBE YOU SHOULD SEE A NICE BRIGHT CLEAN PICTURE IF IT LOOKS CLOUDY YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE LIQUID IN THE CRT GUNS.I DON,T THINK YOU WAN'T TO TRY THIS YOURSELF.
TIP(I USE A LITTLE ARMOR ALL WHEN I CLEAN LENES, THIS REPELS DUST LIKE IN YOUR CAR) IF YOU CHANGE YOUR FLUID AND WANT TO KNOW WHERE TO GET NEW FLUID I PUT CLEAR ANTIFREEZE IN MY PIONEER TV 3YEARS AGO AND STILL LOOKS GREAT "NOT KIDING"
HOPE ALL THIS YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE TO DO IT. HAVE IR SERVICE. REPAIRING THIS WILL BE YOUR BEST OPTION>THANKS
First check what color of faint lines comes then reduce Screen Volts in TV of that CRT (tube) Take off lower front cover, speaker grille of TV, there you will see focus control block that has 6 control knobs, upper 3 knobs are focus adjustment of red-green-blue CRTs and lower 3 knobs are screen volt controls for red-green-blue CRTs. Turn screen volt control knob CCW to reduce screen volts of desired CRT. Put TV on any free AV input so screen will be dark enough to adjust screen volts. Thanks.
The tv has 2 focus adjustments for each tube, mechanical and electrical.
1. Mechanical focus is set by looking at screen from back (through inspection plate on back of most samsungs) and rotating the lens assembly on CRT. loosen wing nut and turn lens assembly to go through focus and back to best position.
Put convergence pattern on screen and manually misadjust bottom red and green lines convergence so they can be seen through inspection hole.
With back cover of TV off you can usually reach your hand up beside the lens assembly to loosen the wing nut then rotate to adjust. Green is in the middle. The focus will be obvious when you rotate and look
When you are finished make sure the foam dust protector is not over any of the lens assemblies and the wing nut is tight.
2. Electrical focus - located at front of unit. the front grille/speaker cover is removed and maybe a cover over the front crt inspection hole.
In the inspection hole there is a black plastic "Focus/screen adjust Assembly" with 2 rows of 3 controls.
One row is focus and the other is screen. The middle controls are for green with R/B on either side. Usually the controls are labelled as "focus" and "screen". You want to adjust the focus controls, one for each color. Look for the focus or screen label imprinted in the plastic. Don't play with the screen settings.
With the same misadjusted convergence pattern you can see a red, blue and green line. Adjust green focus and watch green line for best focus. Do same for other 2.
Screen adjustments are very exact and delicate. The easiest way to deal with them is to turn color off in Customer adjust menu. Put any color tone adjustments in the middle (low, med, high, put at med).
You should have a b/w picture if there are no crt or other color related faults. If it is close to B/W leave screens alone.
If the pix is too green, then the green screen setting must be reduced a small amount. Do not play with these adjustments as most TV repairrers have a difficult time adjusting them.
If focus adjustments don't help then focus control or CRT may be defective. Needs expert to determine.
