Dr Mercola Pure & Clear air purifier model# PC_AP2000. Unit stopped working, will not turn on. Cannot find a fuse in this unit. All else is in perfect working order. Thank you for your help.

The unit would be fused through the circuit breaker it gets power from in the main box of the house or in some cases a sub box to the main house circuit breaker box. If it is tripping the breaker something is seriously wrong and to reset over and over causes a fire risk, call a repair person.

My Midea Split Air Conditioner displays EC on the indoor unit after working for 10 - 15 minutes. What does that mean and how do I go about it?

Turn off the circuit breaker to the Midea A/C unit. I found mine outside. My unit has It's own breaker. It's in a metal case covering. I opened the door to the metal case and inside was a black box with 2 led lights that were not lighted. I pulled the metal pull on the black box and the black box popped out. On the back were 2 fuses that look like batteries. I replaced the black box and heard a beep from the A/C unit indicating power was back on. I used the remote to turn on unit and now it works like a charm!

Electric dryer is not producing heat

Check your power source. In the circuit breaker box for your home there is a breaker for the dryer. It consists of 2 identical breakers combined into one. Some have a rod connecting the handles together so when one trips so does the other. Some only have one handle that trips both. These breakers sometimes trip one but not the other. That can be the reason you have motors running but no heat. If you have a voltmeter you can check the voltages at the wall plug for the dryer. There are 3 (some times 4) blades on the cord. The 4th blade on the cord is connected to the metal case of the dryer.Unplug the cord and set the voltmeter to check 240 Volts AC. Now insert each test lead into the two outer slots of the plug that look like V shape. If there is 240 volts present then the problem is inside the dryer. If there is not 204 V AC present move one of the test leads to the middle connection. Do this between both of the outer slot and the center to test both breakers If you get 115 volts AC, you'll need to replace the circuit breaker.

LG electric dryer is not heating. Electric coils test for continuity. Any suggestions?

There are several things that can prevent a dryer from not heating. UNPLUG DRYER BEFORE TESTING ANYTHING.
1- power- Test the receptical to make sure you are getting 220 volts. To do this you need and voltage tester. Both legs should pull 110 and together 220. If one leg is not pulling any power than your breaker is half tripped. Reset breaker to cure your problem. If problem persist it is in the breaker or receptical.
2- cord- To test this unplug dryer. Take the panel covering the cord connections off. Remove cord entirely from dryer. Test each leg for continuity. If any are not showing cont than replace cord.
3- Themal fuse- To test this remove access back access panel on some front panel. By the blower housing there is a fuse white thin sliver or round fuse with 2 wires going to it. The one with 4 wires is your low limit cycling thermistat. The thermal fuse is near that. Disconnect the 2 wires and check fuse for continuity. If meter shows cont fuse it good. If not replace fuse.
4- Hi Limit Thermistat- test same way as thermal fuse. On the heating element housing at the bottom are 3 wires running to a fuse. Test the left and right. The bottom is attached to one of the sides.
5- Thermal Cutoff- Test same way as thermal fuse. This fuse is near the top of the heating elemnt above the Hi Limit. 2 wires with usually plastic covers on them.
6- Heating Element- Below high limit 2 wires. Test for continuity.
If all these fuses are good than you may need to call a technician. The motor may not be getting to the right rpm to activate the senfrigrial switch in the moter. Timer or control board may be out.
7- Motor- If

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I suspect that either the heating element is malfunctioning or the control board is. Sorry but either will mean an engineer's visit ;-0(
Sorry again,

I'm seeing a master switch on the control board, try a reset there. But, sounds like a bad element. You need to test continuity through your heater components. When testing a component unhook wires first, as they will still have continuity even if bad with wires attached.

I live in central fl We have a older tempstar electric heating/cooling unit there is power to the indoor part and the heat works. I have power to the inside breaker for the cooling but no power to the...

The outdoor unit should have it's own 220 volt breaker, and on the wall near the outdoor unit should be a disconnect box, some disconnects have breakers, others have just a disconnect bar, and behind the metal plate are fuses.
I would check the breakers at the panel first, make sure that there is 220 volt output, then kill power and go to the disconnect box and if there are fuses, use your meter and make sure that they are good, alot of times, only one fuse will blow and one is good.
This is a good starting point, if this has been helpful, please rate me. And please get back to me if you have any questions that I can help you with.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

Hoover 0910dryer not heating. element replaced not long ago

Hi, the possible causes are: Possible Causes: The wall receptacle, power cord (plug) and electrical supply must be in good condition and wired correctly for the dryer to heat.
  • Supply Issue - Loose or missing connection on supply wire from circuit breaker.
  • Plug Issue - Loose or missing connection in the wall. Defective, worn or damaged wall plug.
  • Cord Issue - Loose, missing or incorrect connection of the power cord to the dryer terminals.
If gas dryer and does not heat, Gas Dryer heats with a gas burner, make sure the gas supply line valve is open.
Also, for electric dryer,
Electric dryers require two 30 amp breakers or fuses in the house electrical box to run and heat. If one breaker is tripped or one fuse is blown, the motor, the timer and lights can work but the dryer will not heat.
