Question about Proscan PS36125 36" TV

1 Answer

Proscan video problem

I have the PS36125 (about 9 yrs old) and lately it's been acting funny with the video. The screen starts with snow and then gets worse with added loud crunching and crackling. If I go to the back and wiggle the coax or RCA jacks, it stops but then starts again. As the TV warms up it seems to get better and eventually stops doing it. This happens every time we turn the tv on. Actually there is an occasion that it doesn't do it.

Re: Proscan video problem

Sound like bad tuner,or tuner circuitry.Instead of spending money, why don't you bypass the problem??

Use a / v  outputs from source box to a /v inputs on tv

let me know by rating if you need more help....T.

Snow on scren only Will not change chanals either using remote or tv contol Do I need a turner? if so where can I obtain same? call Tom @ 1-314=822=7373 TV about 30 yrs old think I had a power surage

any tv 30 yrs old is surely analog , these wont work in todays environment as the ole government did away with all those analog goodies , you'll need a converter to convert the new 1080P HD pictures down to the fuzzy analog signal so your tv can see them , unless its a family heirloom with a fantastic looking wooden cabinet id be looking to get a new HD tv to replace it

I got an old (1995) 36" proscan without a manual, and it's been a pain to get it working. Nice enough TV once you do, though.

The weirdest thing is that S-video shows on channel 91, and the AutoProgram function won't find it. That's right; they just randomly picked 91, and you're stuck with it.

Pressing Menu on the front brings up the menu. Pressing it again cycles through choices, and the plus and minus buttons to the left of it activate the choices.

Good luck finding any more info; hope this helps

Static on screen and then turns itself off then on

My first aproach will be to see if the tv reacts to tap on the sides if you see a reaccion when you do it most likely you have a loose conection and need to call someone to find it and resoldered it.Dont do it yourself if you dont know how.
