the R1900u resitor was burnt so badly that i cound not read the value.  the size of R1900u says that it is more than 1/10 watt.

Please look again because R1900u is in the same spot  on the ciruit board as R1901.  The notation for R1900u is up and to the left of R1901.

    Thank You

Are the two resistors R1900 & R1901 wired in parallel??

And,are they the same physical size (wattage) ?? then try

measuring R1901 and use the same value for R1900...T.

PS. By experimenting a little,I don't think you will damage the set. I take it the picture is fine and you are fixing audio......

My emerson tv keeps turning its self off after a few seconds

I do not have a model number to go with. But I would imagine this TV is still on the new side. If this is the case, the values on the starting resistors for the inverter board have changed values. You will need an inverter board replaced. Or if you know of an authorized Philips Center, they may replace the resistors with the same value or new values, depending on the model number of your TV. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

The colors are out of alignment causing the screen to appear 3D.

yes you can try.
goto convergence setings
slect menue on your remote
goto Convergence option 4 under (screen)
if this mode is mising you have an open resitor 750k ohm location on main pcb board is R19722
your tv set is also an RCA tpk195, if this helps
ptk195.
you might want to have a TV repairman look at the red blue and green convergence amp's.
