I'd speak to them again, sounds like you have a faulty stick of RAM, if it freezes then it usually means one of the hex sections of the stick isn't working correctly.

My dell inspiron 1525 laptop is running slow because it is saying the memory is nearly full when it isnt, how do i solve this

Harddisk maintenance should be carried once a month to make your computer runefficiently.Thisremoves redundant and temporary files, recovers disk space and speed up harddisk access.Disk Cleanup should be donefirst - Click My Computer - then right click on the C drive then click Properties, then click Disk Cleanup - let it examine the C drive then it will calculate theamount of disk space it will recover, tick all the boxes to recover themaximum disk space and then Click OK and then Yes to perform theseactions. If you have a D drive then repeat these steps on this drive too.Next the C drive needs tobe Defrag. This process converts fragmented filesinto continuous files and this speeds up disk access and makes the hard disknot work as hard. Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - SystemTools - Disk Defragmenter - click to highlight the Cdrive and click Analyse - then click Defragment. When this is completedrepeat these steps for the D Drive if you have a D drive.Disk Cleanup and Defrag can take a long time to complete, especially ifthese tasks have not been for a long time.

I have a two-year old Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. for no apparent reason, it will now not boot up. When I turn it on, I get the following message......"Internal hard disk not found. To resolve this...

The hard drive may have failed or a virus has corrupted the Cmos data.
Try entering the BIOS and checking that the Cmos recognises that the hard drive is there. If it doesn't, remove the hard drive and re fit it, booting up again.

It could be that you have not insert the memory sticks in correctly this can result in not screen.
1. check to see if you have the memory sticks seated in their slots correctly.

Computer, PC, running sooooooooooooooo slow- what can I do? Dell Inspiron 1520

Hello pkentx3,

First, remove unused and/or unwanted programs. Then consider doing the following three procedures that can improve overall computer performance:

[1]. Remove excess/unwanted files on the hard drive

[2]. Run Disk Defrag on the hard Drive
•Click Start (lower left-hand corner of screen)
•Click All Programs
•Click Accessories
•Click System Tools
•Click Disk Defragmenter

[3]. Add more computer memory (RAM)

Also, there are many registry cleaning and repair utilities which might be worth reviewing.

If this solution is helpful please click a thumbs-up rating below.

Have a great day,

My dell inspiron 1525 has a memory write / read failure and i tried to reseat the memory and that did not work. Please help me

This could also be a problem with the hard disk. Part of the hard disk is usually used as a virtual memory. If the hard drive is defective, you could experience this kind of failure.
Check your hard disk drive using CHKDSK C: from a command line prompt. Check the outcome of this command. If you find any errors, run the command CHKDSK C: /F to fix the errors. Beware that the second command will prompt you to reboot your computer.

The dell inspiron 1525 says cannot detect hard drive when I turned it on. Can you help me?

Check the bios if the HDD is detected, reboot the computer and hit f2 to go to the bios option. Try to reseat the hard drive, your hard drive is on the bottom left side of the computer. There will be two screws to be removed so you can reseat it.
Run the PSA diags, do this by turning off the computer and then while the computer is off press and hold the <FN> then the power button. This will initiate the PSA test and once you got an error code like 2000-0141, report this to dell tech support for assistance

Normally you boot up the laptop without a memory stick in the USB port.
Check your BIOS settings for the boot up device order.
You should have the hard drive as the first boot device, you can have the CD as the first boot device and the hard drive as the second boot device.
You should not have the USB port as the first boot device.
