Hi
Just bought an Iomega Screenpaly Pro HD. I have downloaded some movies. When I open them on the laptop through windows media player, the sound is working. But when I play the movie on my TV through the Iomega, there is no sound. Can anyone offer a suggestion?
Thanks v. much
Gary
I have a similar problem. When I first used it, it was OK but one day after a week or so, I've lost sound. When I put the volume of the TV to the maximum, I can hear it but it is still faint. Another problem/dissatisfaction I have is that the high resolution pictures are not displayed as good as my similar resolution PC monitor. I am dissapointed in that regard but I will still keep the device if I can fix the sound. I will call the tech support tomorrow.
Here is what IOMEGA says:
Why am I not receiving audio output?

Why am I not receiving audio output?
Answer
Check the audio cable connection between the ScreenPlay Plus and the TV. The ScreenPlay Plus can be connected to right/left RCA connectors on the TV using the red and white connectors on the included composite cable. You can also connect the ScreenPlay Plus to an AV amplifier (receiver) using a coaxial audio cable (not included). If you are using a composite RCA connection, be sure you have connected to audio input on the TV set. If you are using an HDMI connection, it includes both video and audio.
NOTE: Some TV sets are equipped with separate composite and component audio inputs. Be sure that you have connected the correct one.
Check the Audio options on the Setup menu. If the ScreenPlay is connected to an AV amplifier using a coaxial cable, select the appropriate S/PDIF Output option for your equipment.
Check the volume setting on the TV or AV amplifier. You will not be able to hear audio if the volume is too low. Try pressing the volume increase key on the ScreenPlay Plus remote control.
Check the volume setting on the ScreenPlay Plus Setup menu. If it is set too low, you will not be able to adjust the volume properly using the TV volume control.
The ScreenPlay Plus might be using the wrong audio channel. Press the AUDIO key on the remote control to select the correct audio channel.
I fixed my sound problem by increasing the volume in the setup menue audio section. Our baby has been playing with it and I've never spent the time to figure out how to use the device.
Good luck
