How to remove paper jammed in epson workforce 500 printer. i dont see the paper in scanner, back feeder and ink cartridge. what shall i do?

Unplug it and open it up until you see the paper. Don't be rough, but use the rollers to help you roll it back out carefully, If any piece is broken off, fish it out... you can't leave any bits in there.

OK, it sounds like a defective printer that needs to be reset.
Unplug the power to it and replug the power back in to see if it stops doing this.

My printer had a jam, which I removed and may have bumped the cartridge. Now it keeps saying to remove and check cartridge. But nothing changes after I do that. Do I need to buy a new cartridge, or is it a...

Actually it posible that it bumped the whole alignment off of the printer.(Not kidding )If you look inside, there is a "belt looking" thing that the cartridges ride on. On those type of printers (ink jet's, bubble jet's), once you get a major paper jam and it does that often, well...Try unplugging the printer, open up the cover so you can see the ink cartridges, if not than manually pull them in from of you, take the ink out, move the slide back in forth 3-5 times (carefully), make sure that the belt is not damaged and is still working fine while moving it. Put the cartridges back in, turn it back on and then run the calibration utility that cam with the software. If that doesn't work let me know...m_nastasi@hotmail.com

Paper Jam

try these steps

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Paper comes out blank

Chances are the ink cartridges are stopped up with dried ink. These printers have this problem if you don't use them often and just let them set up. Try folding a couple of paper towels so they will be several thicknesses, then wet the paper towels with water and place in microwave and heat them up really hot. Take you ink cartridge and place the ink exit area on the paper towel and rub it back and forth. This will wick the dried ink out of the cartridge exit. Put back in printer and try it. You may have to do this several times to get it back to good condition. Hope this helps.
