Check your fan first using a 12v Dc power source and see if it is running, then try to go to the bioset up if the computer accepts and check for hardware setings, but what i see is that you might have got a problem with your Ram cheap or a processor problem. If it is with ram remove and replace with new or another one first to ensure that it is ram problem, if you see that it is the same remove the processor if you have access to it and wait for 30 min and then replace. test and see the out come and if you see tha it is the same replace new processor and then reinstall the operating system

Screen on presario 2500 is black blank and won't change

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.

HP Pavilion DV6700 won't boot

Possibly overheating? As you say that when you press and of the F-Key option nothing is happening, and also the fan is running at full power, if the fan is louder than usual, then it could be overheating in the air vents which you can find either at the sides, back, front and underneath the laptop, try getting the compressed air, and giving the air vents a blast to get all dust out. Or a vacuum. Do it whilst laptop is turned off though!
