Try to check the speakers or microphone lines and jacks whether they are connected properly . if still does not work, then check the audio settings under sound and devices in control panel.
If still makes no difference , then try reinstalling the audio drivers via the CD that was provided to you or u can find the drivers on http://www.toshiba.com or http://www.driverfiles.net/Notebooks/Toshiba/Tecra-9100/download/page,sh,31396,221,19,.html
