Question about HP Pavilion tx1000z Notebook
For the past couple of days, my laptop hasn't been starting up. When I try to turn it on, all of the lights turn on momentarily but then go out.
When I contacted HP they said it was the AC adapter, but I tried using it on another computer and it worked fine. I also tried using another battery that has a full charge, but it still wouldn't start up.
I have the same problem. i was just thinking my laptop ran hot, and I am awaiting delivery of the $55 laptop cooler fan thingy that I had to buy. Sometimes the wireless doesn't recognize my router. Other times the laptop won't recognize my flash drives.
I bought the tx1000 in summer 2007 and this has just started happening maybe 4 months ago; it's getting worse...I can't afford to buy another computer right now!
Does anyone know of what model number and type the motherboard is? I'm thinking of trying to find one cheap and then going to a local place to see if I can have it installed cheap...
Like a previous poster said, "There are hundreds of us with the same problem tx1000 series, and it's due to the bad manufacturing off the motherboard, it heat's so much that the weldings off the NVIDIA comes loose, and won't start up, this happend too me just 4 month's after the warranty was comsumed???? and HP won't resume their responsibilities and won't recognize the extended 2 year warranty, i have solved this problem by myself, and for sure never again i will buy anothe
HP SUCKS!!! Cannot BELIEVE this is happenning to me!
I understand what you are going through. Your HP tx1000 is facing this problem due to faulty power supply unit and/or loosely cliped heat sink. Replacing the cooling fan might help you and can resolve the issue. While you will replace the fan check for the loosely cliped heat sink and also the power supply unit's connection. And regarding the issue related to your wireless not recognizing your router is also related to heat sink as the wireless antenna is placed near the heat sink and heat might have burnt your antenna's internal connections. Regarding the flash drives not recognisable can be due to faulty port connections and/or faulty motherboard. Motherboard sometimes functions erratically due to excessive heat.
To see how to replace the cooling fan and check other issues like heat sink and connections please look at this service manual for your TX 1000---
