Problems burning video to disc or program

I cannot burn video onto a disc from my camera. I have used windows movie maker and I bought Nero 9 and have been unable to burn anything. I was told it could be the disc I was using and changed that but still have the same problem. I am using windows vista as an operating system.

sk8er are you on yahoo? I have tried to change the format and for some reason it does not help or won't change. I am not sure if it is something I am doing wrong or what I can change. I did not think it would be this difficult or I would not have bought this thing in the first place.

I think you need to change your video format... for example you cant burn a .MOV file onto a disc with nero but you can do it with a .wmv file

also try re-formating your camcorder and disc for any mor help please pm me =]

Trying to download mini dv tape onto video

for to import from the Sony handy-cam you need a firewire cable ..not a rca..this one will only help you see the video on a tv ...but you will not be able to import them into computer ...
just ask at the store..and take the camera with you ..
another thing the camera may support even a usb cable that may be available in the box that it came with (infact the iLink cable should be there too )
so ..this is a link to a video I use to explain in detail the procedure to import fom minitape of sony handycam.
after have them into the windows movie maker..just drag them to the story board..(join them if you need) ..and save them by finishing movie...and save to computer ..in best for computer mode...after that just burn them to **** ..using Nero ..or if they are small enough to get into a cd ...use window feature for burning ..

Rotating movies

You probably could use some fancy piece of software, but for the quality of video you'll have it'd be a waste of money.

Windows Movie Maker will probably do the job (I'm assuming you're using Windows).

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/default.mspx

You can then burn the video to DVD using something like Nero or Roxio.

HOW TO BURN MOVIE ONTO DVD WITH MY COMPUTER

Windows Movie Maker has a few features that are missing for it to complete the job, In fact Microsoft no longer supports the product. This is why it's not included in Vista. Nero makes software to do it as well as Pinnacle. I use Studio and it will walk you through the capture process, edit, menu creation, and burning to DVD.

We have been unable to get the machine to dubb our tapes to a DVD. We get a message that is the universal signal for "do not". (Circle with a line throught it.)

It sounds like the format on your tape is not one that your system can dub directly onto a DVD. I run my video tapes through Pinnacle Studio 9 or 10, process, and then burn onto DVD. Windows XP has a movie maker program to do this, and some people use Nero successfully.

What do you mean wont work? Make sure your CD drive is a CD/DVD writer. On the Nero, it has an option to create a movie disc, something like that. Use that option.

Vista crashes while publishing movie in Windows Movie Maker/DVD Maker

i just found out the problem.
I have nero 7 installed on vista. To fix the vista movie maker crash when rendering, I just renamed this folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter
Renamed DSFilter to something else. VMM no longer crashes and when I want to use Nero again, just rename DSFilter back to normal.

Dvd

it all depends on wot u used to burn it, and wot type of dvd player u have, there r diff ways to get it to play, on a normal dvd player u will either need to encode the movie file into a vcd and put it on a cd or encode to dvd format and burn it onto a dvd using programs like nero or roxio
