    Didn't work.

    Thanks anyway

  • Richard Schabler May 11, 2010 I see your camera, as per my previous "Clarification Requets" your camera has three cylinders on the Lens Barrel, (The part the goes in and out) Try to observe the direction the middle two lens barels move when you try to zoom. They will move in or out, but also spin, try to observe the point when they stop moving and the camera shuts down. My advice would be to try to assist the twisting motion back into proper alignment, since the lens has most likely been "assisted" out of alignment, Be gentle, and don't get carried away. The proper direction would be a tiny bit back from where the Zoom function takes it. (it sounds like the zoom function is trying to travel beyond it's reach) Perhaps to check, look and see if the lens achieves a full zoom before it shuts down, or if it can't move fully into zoom position. The most likely result will be a request to turn off the camera (or auto shutdown), and turn it back on again. These devices are smart, but they don't go far from home. If you do manage to move the barrel, (a few clicks will let you know), and it dosn't operate better . . attempt to move the barrel back to where it was originally. One step forward, one step back. Always check that you get at least the minimal functions you already have. Good luck, Richard.

Hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes...

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a
problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator
that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain
point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens
arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these
symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect
    itself from further damage.
    thank u rate me!!!

I just had that problem and fixed it by turning on the camera and then rotating the lens ring closest to the camera clockwise just until it click once or twice which extended the other two lenses out all of the way then wiggle the other two lightly. I then turned the camera off then back on and had to repeat the previous again. Then shut it off and turned back on. Something in the lens rotation must have been slightly off. Just play with slightly rotating the lenses like that until they get into the right position. Make take a few tries, just don't overly force them. Wish I had tried this on my other camera before tossing it out because it had the same problem.

Blurry images

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens problems.

Ok so i am turning on my camera (an Fe-340) and the lens go in two or three times then when the screen finally does come on it is blurry and way out of focus, also when i attempt to adjust the zoom the...

It may be something more serious, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion buildups may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera. Assuming that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, this takes care of about 90% of the startup problems. I hope it works for you.

Problem with my Olympus FE-230

When I turn my camera on, the lens goes in and out a few times. Once it's finally on and I look at the screen, everything is blurry. When I take the picture, it's blurry too. If I try to use the zoom to adjust, the lens starts going in and out all crazy and won't adjust right.

No picture and lens does not retract

Well some cameras has features that does not use the LCD screen of the camera, because to save battery power or to get better shots with the focus ring.

You can just use the area where you focus your eye to aim and shoot the object of image.

Try to enabled the LCD screen feature.

The Zoom Lens Wiggles 3 times because it is programmed to zoom at the standard zoom size, this is totaly normal for camera in digital and analog types.
