Question about Hotpoint RB757 Electric Kitchen Range
Drop in stove top cartridges are numbered 87946 or 87947 with statement they are only to be used with Jennair range, 2800W, 240V. The wiring, with cloth insulation, is breaking down. I am confident of my ability and would like to rewire the two drop-in cartridges. What gauge wire should I use and is it okay to use plastic insulated wire rather than the cloth insulation (can the cloth insulated wire even be found anymore)? Thanks for the help.
Use at least #12 take a sample with you to the wire supplier (not a hardware store) you must purchase the heat protected plastic special wire (UL hi-heat) and, use porcelain wirenuts to make any wire-to-wire connections
