Question about HP DeskJet 5550 InkJet Printer
My HP5550 deskjet has stopped printing black text.
This happens when I try to print word documents or PDFs. There is no problem printing in gray or in color. It's just the black parts of the documents that do not show up.
I have tried many things to fix this, including changing the black ink cartridge; using the clean and calibrate functions in the HP Inkjet Utilities panel; turning off and on the printer; and printing test pages, which do print in black.
I'm running a Mac OS X version 10.4.11.
I'm not sure what I else I can do here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When you go to print check to see in your print preferences settings to see if color or black and white is checked. Could also be the specific program's print options you are using to print the pages.
