I've got a GE Side by Side, I removed the defrost heaters to order new ones, and plugged the unit back in (yes I expect the freezer to frost up) the freezer quickly got cold but the fridge is still very warm (after two days running) how does the fridge circulate the air like the freezers fan does? everything worked fine before the defrost unit started shorting out. I connot see the the defrost heaters helping to make the fridge cold.

- Fan is running great, I tried plugging it in so it pushes into the freezer or pulls air out of the freezer but neither effects the fridge. (I don't know which way it is supposed to go)May 25, 2009
- But the fan only moves the air around the Freezer, I can see the opening at the top with a door (presently open) and a hole at the bottom between the freezer and fridge but no air is really flowing between the two and the holes are not clogged. Is there a second fan to move air in the fridge?Solution #1

the freezer circulates air through the refrigerator by using a fan every 24 hours the defrost timer comes on the compressor goes off and, the machine defrosts if your mullion defrost heaters are getting hot
and, staying hot you have miss-wired your defrost timer
