Anyone know what the symbols on circular dials, ( back/top) of phone do/activate?

Please press the Home button, wigdget/circular symbols, tools symbol > then systems >camera settings > back camera input > On

It sounds as though you have activated one of the timers. On the LCD display on top of the camera look in the bottom right-hand corner of the display and see if there is a symbol that looks a bit like a one-handed clock (the timer symbol). If so, press the AF-Drive button on top of the camera and rotate the large, circular selector dial on the back of the camera until that symbol goes away. Now the camera should shoot normally.

To turn the flash ON please follow the instructions below

• Raise the Flash
• After pressing the button turn the mode dial button on top to choose symbol.
• Then press the FUNC.SET button.
• Once set, symbol will appear. Now the flash is turned on.
  

Slide the REC/PLAYBACK selector switch to the camera symbol. Set the mode dial to the camera symbol. Press the MENU/SET button. Use cursor-up/down to select the next-to-last item on the menu (it will have a head-and-speech-bubble symbol).

Set the Mode dial to the camera pic and press the menu button. Use the arrow keys to arrow left to the RESET icon and then press the OK/FUNC button.

Hi,

With the camera ready to shoot in Auto mode - you will see a little lightening symbol in the top right hand corner of the screen. This indicates the flash is turned on.

On the left side of the circular dial at the back of the camera you will see a similar little lightening symbol indented into the dial. Simply press on this side of the dial to turn the flash on or off as you desire.

The symbol on the screen will go off when you push this to indicate flash is off and return if you press again to turn it on.

I would try changing the memorised info that you put into your My1 settings and see if that helps. I just got my V700 today and the first thing I did was put my preferences into My1. I don't really know why your camera is transferring this to your video setting but try removing your presettings in My1.
