Had for one year motherboard failed, 2 years later motherboard failed, was in storage inside in my home for awhile 5 years later motherboard fails. You get a popping sound and then no picture, sometimes if you unplug it for a period of time (varies) and plug back in it may show picture but more commonly will once again pop and then go completely off. Service tech (same one for two times now) says the onboard feature that's supposed to keep track of what has occured doesn't show a thing. Luckily, or maybe not I purchased a service contract with Sears but it has been nothing but pulling teeth without novacaine to get them to fix it. Not 3 hours ago I heard the same sound here we go again.

OUCH... Might need a new harddrive or motherboard. Does it even let you go into the bios? Maybe you can do a full reinstall to save you the dough.

Blue screen - Memmory_Management

You have the blue screen of death unless you have tweaked your PC to stop without restart it is difficult to read the error.

Did you upgrade from a x86 (32bit) ot x64 (64bit) version of Windows XP or Vista?

Windows (5) XP to Windows 7 - wet7xp_x86.exe

Windows (6) Vista to Windows 7 - Windows6.0-KB928635-x86.msu

Did you run the Windows7UpgradeAdvisor first ?

There maybe Memory Issues with your PC using Windows 7 especailly your Video Card Memory , it a good idea to check you motherboard for memory compatibilty some Motherboards wont take High Density Memory with Windows 7, check here at Crucial Scanner

If you post your HTML result of the Windows 7 upgrade checker to this post I maybe be able to help you further.

If all this fails I suggest that you do a complete install of Windows 7 unless you just have the upgrade pack, please check that you are using the correct version for your PC either 32bit or 64bit as shown above.

Maxtor 120 gb harddrive cant read it on older home pc

You indicated that you have 2x achieved connectivity on the home pc. This is a good indication of a problem with the USB port. You may want to acquire a USB card for the motherboard. This alternative access to the computer could solve the problem. Cost for a replacement card can be as low as $20. Use a screwdriver to open the case, install the card and go.

Intel webcam cs430 EXTERNAL VIDEO INPUT SHOWS BLUE SCREEN-NO VID

I had the same problem (blue screen from external cam). I read a few unrelated posts that talked about USB2 vs USB 1 and internal PCI vs external USB hub so thought I'd try a few things. I unplugged my CS430 from an external USB1 (I think - it's a Belkin iPOD synch base with 5 USB ports) hub and plugged it into the front chasis mounted USB 2.0 ports on my Dell Dimension E310 and voila!!! the external cam works and no need to mess around with SP3 etc. Hope this helps.

To many people are having big problems with service pack 3 and that's why I get to choose what get's installed. I will NOT put service pack 3 in any of my pc's till all the problems are gone.

You need to get rid of it, and go back to service pack 2, and the only help I found was this,
