The system has worked flawlessly until now. However, the power will not come on, and we too have tried everything. The system was a Christmas gift so it is not even a year old yet. We will try the power supply next to see if it is bad, but other than that we are at a loss as what to do.

Wii wont power on

Wii Console Won't Turn On, and Has No Power Light
Situation:

The Wii console won't power on, and the Power LED is unlit
The console powers on, but shuts off after a few seconds/minutes
Attaching an accessory to the console turns the power off

Information:

This issue can be caused by an accessory or power surge tripping the circuit breaker on the AC Adapter.

What To Do:

Check any accessories attached directly to the console to make sure that it is licensed and undamaged. Unlicensed or damaged accessories shouldn't be used with the console.
Try using a different wall outlet, or plug a different device into the outlet to make sure the outlet is providing power.

I purchased a Wii console about 5 months ago. I never played the thing because I dident have any games. I just recently got a game, went to turn it on and there was no lights and it wouldn't turn on. I...

First, Check your wii adaptor, In normal conditions the wii adapter provides the output 12volt. You can test the output using multimeter or a 12volt lamp.

then
plug it into the outlet, If the light is still off/flashing, disconnect the AC Adapter unplug from the wall outlet, wait 2 minutes and plug it back into the outlet. Turn the console power ON.

hopefully this help..

I cannot get the power to wii console.all connections are ok

Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii.

This is a common problem with the Wii. As I said, I'm very surprised Nintnedo didn't cover this in the owners manual FAQ, considering it happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc.

Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. Power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

My wii will not turn on, I have never had a problem with it before. I checked all of the plugs and everything seems great except it will not turn on.

It seems every 5th problem I see is this issue. Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii or in the Owner's Manual.

This is a common problem with the Wii. It happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc. Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens.

Power will come back on, or you'll go to turn the Wii on one day, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter (I explain how below). First, a little background on this issue. Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii.
