Not a job for the average homeowner. Proper tools are required. A replacement motor may be your best bet. Be sure to also replace the shaft seal if undertaking this job.

Appears that the silicone sand is being thrown back into the pool from the return jets? I assume something gave out since the filter is old. What part is needed to replace on the EC65 DE Filter?

Is this a DE filter or a sand filter: Check all internal parts of your DE filter for holes or breaks. There is a hose inside that is suppose to eliminate air locks ... it may be submerged. Same applies to sand ... find the broken lateral or air lock preventing hose.

If you have a DE filter and sand is coming into the pool ... there is definitely a hole returning sand that bathers introduced into the pool ...

You are using DE in your DE filter, right??? not sand ... right???

De blowby entering pool replaced both gaskets in variflow as well as checked filter grids

If you have DE blowing back into the pool with this pool filter, there is really only a couple things that it could be. Either there is a hole in the grid fabrics or the o ring needs to be replaced. If you have checked the grids and don't see anything, it could be a hole that is not visible. You are probably going to have to replace the grid material.

I'm getting DE back in my pool from the 4820 filter

One of two things can cause this. Either the spider gasket is bad or there is a rip or tear in one or more of the filter grids.
P.S.
(the spider gasket is inside the valve you turn to backwash filter)

Jacuzzi pump not pumping

I would probably say that the pump is clogged up or frozen. The motor humms until the heat sensor clicks it off. Try taking apart the front of pump and see if it turns and you should see the problem. Parts are available at most pool stores. Pumps are usually cheaper online.

We have an an Infinity DE filter. It's blowing DE back into the pool. We've replaced the filters.

Most likely the "fingers" inside the filter housing are worn out and causing the DE to blow out the return line to the pool.

My pump pressure is 10psi i cleaned the de filters they seem fine i have good floe out of my jets but when i hook the pool cleaner up pressure drops to almost nothing. could my impeller be the problem

The pressure you are reading is the pressure in the filter tank as water is pumped though it. When the filter is freshly charged, 9 PSI is a good pressure.

As the filter removes particles from the water the filter gets "dirty" -- it takes more pressure to push the water through it thus raising the PSI.

I think you are viewing this in reverse. Low filter pressure is "good" (as long as it stays above 8 PSI) -- as the filter cleans the water the PSI will increase -- when it gets to 15-20 PSI it needs to be back-washed and recharged.

The pressure drops when the pool cleaner is connected because pool cleaners always pull in air (in varying amounts) because of all the hose connections. This causes your filter/tank pressure to drop.

Buddy is this happening, after the pump turns off or during.. Need more info.. type of filter.. Sometimes the sleeves on the neck area of the panel. Where it mates with the manifold slide down, you will have a small opening. Might be from their.. Could be a hole on one of the panels. Do you have a push/pull valve or a multiport valve (to back wash)
