Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Snow screen My RCA 52" will go to a snow screen right after turning on or a few minutes after. Turn the tv off then back on, and will be fine for a few minutes. It will do this several times and then be ok until turned off again. It acts like the cable goes out. Someone told me it could be where the cable connects in the back. Any help?

depending on what type of erratic video it is before shutdown it can be either the Small signal board or the Deflection board are what usually cause those type symptoms. You can get replacement parts from www.tvrepairworld.com

Tv turns on by itself

Hey Bubba,
If your TV is turning on by itself at about the same time each day you may have a timer activated, turn it it off, the TV's micro might need too be reset. To reset unplug your TV from the a/c outlet for at least 5 minutes.

Mitsubishi CS31305 TV turns on then goes to snow and then back on

snow basically is a symptom of weak signal.

as you say it becomes ok after 5 minutes or so there no question of any components gone wrong except loose or print intermittent

please check.

1  input weak like cable or antenna or loose wire from the source..

2  in tv antennae socket loose.

3  near tuner any thing loose or track loose.

4  cable wire might be old.

hope this will help.

RCA F27650 27" TV - Snow Bursts

The model you listed, F27650 uses the new ATC113 series chassis, which is only about 3 years old. The ATC113 chassis is not known to have snowy issues, but if yours is then I would suspect that a solder joint is loose in the tuner. If your set is actually around 9 years old, then it might perhaps have the notorious CTC175 - CTC187 series chassis, which went snowy all the time due to cracked solder joints on the shield grounds around the tuner and microprocessor. In either case, some good quality resoldering should cure your trouble. If you have never done fine solder work on PC boards with small surface-mount parts, allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

Snow on screen/wiggle the coax

SOUNDS LIKE BAD SOLDER CONNECTIONS IN SIDE THE TUNER. TAKE THE BACK OFF AND TRY TAPPING AROUND WITH YOUR DRIVER HANDLE THIS WILL LEAD YOU TO WERE THE PROBLEM IS. THEN WE TAKE THE TUNERS APART AND RE SOLDER THE CONNECTIONS,BUT YOU HAVE TO BE VERY GOOD OR YOU WILL MAKE MATTERS WORSE.
