I had to manually reset my Microsoft MN-700 Router by pressing in the recessed reset key on the back of the unit, and now i am trying to log onto the Base Station Management Tool using the IP address...

go to start run and type cmd and press entere. A black screen shows up. type ipconfig then press enter. You may have to scroll up but the number next to gateway is the ip address you need to type into your browser to get acess into the router.

All lights indicate unit is operating, but lack connectivity to internet. Hard connection to modem works just fine.

Try unplugging the router for 1-2 minutes, then plugging it back in. This will allow your router a chance to reset its connections and should improve its performance.
Please let me know how you make out.

The wireless icon is orange. Do you know why??

Hi, 1. Unplug the power from the Modem to the Router 2. Plugin back the power into the Modem and wait 60 sec.. 3. Plugin back the power for the Router wait 60 sec.. 4. Plugin a lan cord from the router to the first wired PC 5. See if you can get on the internet 6. Login to the Router and see if the Connection to the WAN is started? 7. If not started then unplug the wired lan cable and reset the router wait 30 secs to 45 secs before unplug the power then plug the power in again. Then connect the lan cable then connect to the GUI for WEB. Make your See if it connects to the WAN. 8. Test the Network WAN -Internet and LAN - Home Network.

Can't connect through microsoft mn-700 router when hooking up trough cable modem

From your very brief explanation, my first thought is that you may not have the wireless settings set up properly in the wireless router.
You will need to connect first with a lan cat5e or similar type cable to first connect with the router.
If you have already done this, then the problem may be with your network adapter in your computer.

unless I knew more specifics, your problem is to vague to help further.

How do I manually add a device to my MN-700 router with a static IP?

The static ip address is set on the device itself, not the router.

You will need to make sure the ip address and subnet mask you specify for the device is in the same network range as the router.

Ex. MN-700 router IP Address 192.168.1.1
Mask 255.255.255.0
New device IP Address 192.168.1.5
Mask 255.255.255.0

If the new device is a pc, you will also need to enter the DNS settings provided by your ISP to be able to connect to services on the internet.
