Maytag drum baffle came loose and catches clostes when drying

One of the drum baffles inside the tub came loose and is catching clothes when it drys. I thought I would just pop up the hinged top and out some sort of fastener in there to hold it - but I can't get either of the front cabinet latches to release so I can open it to fix the baffle problem - any ideas ?

I had the same problem and just fixed it. First, open the door and remove four screws, two are holding the door on and the other two are in the same place on the opposite side. Lift the door up and pull it out to remove it. Set it aside. Pull the front panel down. Admire all of the **** that has collected inside the dryer. Next, there are two dark colored metal clips holding the top down on the upper right and left. Remove the hex head screws holding these on. Wiggle them to release them and take them out. Now the lid will lift to reach the screws holding the fins on. Tighten as necessary. Now would be a good time to get the shopvac and clean the lint and junk out of the dryer. Reverse the process to put it back together. Problem solved!

During spin cycle the washer makes a loud thumping noise. Not a clanging/sharp noise. When I manually turn drum it sounds like something is loose inside. Like a ball may sound inside drum as it turns.

Is it a front loader? You may have something stuck between the tubs or it may be a broken "paddle" One of the plastic baffles that move the clothes around in the tub. they should all be tightly against the tub.

Need to replace a baffle that broke off . MED9800TKo model baffle broke off insde on the dryer drum

Remove the top panel to access the outside of the drum where the baffle securing screws are found. Remove the three hex-head screws from the rear flange of the dryer's top cover the lift the rear of the cover and slide it back so the tabs clear the catches on the bracket and remove the cover from the unit.

Turn the drum until the baffle screws are on top then remove the screws and the baffles. Install the new baffles then the top cover. Make sure that the tabs slide under the bracket catches when you reinstall the top cover. The top cover screws have nylon flat washers on them. Be sure to use these screws when you reinstall the top cover.

2 dryer bars

The bars are called BAFFLES P/N: 12002559
They are attached by 4 screws through the drum. You must pop the top to reinstall the baffles. Take one of the baffles to the hardware store and buy some good fitting screws. Then pop the top 660ff1d.jpgand use a screwdriver to reattach them. Fairly easy to fix. IF you have the old ones. Do dry tennis shoes in there. Oopz LOL

As dryer rotates, with clothes drying, it sounds like loose pocket change is loose in between the two!

the change gets caught in the three baffles that are attached to the drum.unplug the dryer, open the door and remove the two screws that hold the in place, remove the door, then remove the other two screws opposite the door screws and pull the front panel off.rotate the drum so one of the baffles are down in the right hand corner so you can get at the screws that hold the baffles onto the drum.try loosening the screws but you might have to remove the baffles to get to the change.let me know how you make out

Small (front) baffle in tube of Maytag Nautilus

i cant imagine why you would have too, just drill the screws till the break off andlet them fall w/in theinnner and outer tub.then get the screws out of the catch all at water pump, they might even pass through the drain hose....if you seperate the tubs, youll need time and a new seal between the tubs

GE dry is making a noise like loose change is rolling around

There may be change rolling around in it.
Remove the top. Take the screws out of the drum baffles and remove the coins from inside the dryer drum baffles.
When replacing them, tighten them well to help prevent coins from getting in there.

I've had a model DLG330RAW gas dryer for 5 years. About 2 weeks ago it started making a sound as if coins were in the barrel. It wasn't the clothes buttons, zippers, etc as it will still make the noise...

tis possible that cons have gotten stuck within the veins( tub paddles) of the dryer drum, if thats the case youlll be able to rotate the drum around by hand and actually hear them tumble around as you turn them around.if thats the case tou will need to unscrew the tub baffles from the outside of the drum remove debris and resecure.DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY
first remove 2 5/16 screws holding the lower access panel. and behind that panel 2 more 5/16 screws. lift that panel foward and it will release from under the main lid(2 clips holdin it in). mark the 3 wiresd and disconnect the door switch.2 final 5/16 screws in either corner is holding the main lid assy down, remove them and your able to flip the main top back. you now have access to the outside of the drum all you need to do is rotate around find the screws holding baffles and clean them out
