Unable to connect 3 mobile broadband to Elonex one t netbook

Hi,

We have recently purchased an Elonex one t netbook in order to do basic surfing whilst out and about.

We wanted to use a 3 G mobile broadband dongle as the main sourse of obtaining access to the net.

On looking into the matter we discovered that the one t is only compatible with the Huawei dongles, so we purchased the correct one, plugged it into the USB and followed the instructions provided on the Elonex website in order to complete the connection.

Suprise suprise, we are still unable to connect to the net. as the one t doesnt use windows we find it really difficult to understand any other way of getting online when we have followed correctly the guidelines.

Please can anyone help????

Same thing here - it doesn't work with any of the dongles it supposedly is compatible with.

Can't even get hold of Elonex for help, either via phone or email.

It's got a 1.6GHz processor - most likely Atom - 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi of course, 3 USB ports and it'll ship with both Windows and Linux. Hi Cherryl, at first when top up was done, you should always restart the mobile device in order for the account information to refresh and IP as well. Then try to reconnect and see if you are able to browse successfully.

No, you do not have to buy a wireless printer. Connect the printer via the USB port, printer should have come with a USB cable.

Yes, easy way would be through Connectify. It turns almost any Windows 7 OS PC into a virtual wifi router. The software is free. Basically, it will share whatever internet connection your netbook is getting via a virtual wifi hotspot that your other wireless devices can connect to.

Trouble connecting 3G Mobile Broadband with Elonex

1. Modem may need more power. Get an adapter (might have come with your modem) that combinds power from two USB ports.

2. add an extention USB cable to get it futher away from laptop and possible interference.

GO INTO CONTROL PANAL GO TO NETWORKING AND SHARING.

CHECK THE WINDOWS DEFENDER AND FIREWALL BECAUSE WELL NOT ALLOW YOU ACCESS TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD.
