When I change the temp. setting it keeps heating at original temp

I am having trouble with my temp. control on my outside spa.  When I change the temp. setting it reads correctly but then the water continues to heat to original temp.  I press the temp button.  it blinks. I press button to go down in degrees.  when i get to the temp setting i want, it stops flashing.  but the temp control stays on 98 degrees instead of the 90 degrees setting I want.  What's wrong???  Balboa spa guts and panel.

The keypad appears to working correctly.

When you alter the set temperature via the keypad the display will flash the temperature thats to be acheived, once it stops flashing the keypad will revert back to the current temperature of the water.

Hope that helps,
Ian.

Tub won't heat Message SL

Not much info here but SL could be the mode setting. Typically modes are SLEEP, ECONOMY and STANDARD. Standard maintains your set temp at all times even if it has to turn on outside of normal filtration cycle. Economy only heats during a filtration cycle, and sleep will only heat within 10 degrees of set temp and only in filtration cycle. This cycle is really only useful while going on vacation or other extended periods of non-use. Not sure how to help change modes without knowing what spa pack you have but you should be able to find the owners manual on line with a little research.

The spa is running too much

when the temp drops 1 degree, it will begin to heat up again. you may need a better cover, especially if it's cold outside. i would set it lower (like 100) and then when you know you are going to use it, turn it up and give it an hour or 2 to heat up...i used to have a timer on my old one and i loved that bc i had it set to heat up each night "just in case i wanted to use it"

Jandy Hand held reads the wrong wrong pool temperatrure

the chlorine generator is giving you a correct readout of your pool temp. however, your water temp sensor is bad. if you look at your filter pump, follow the pipe coming from the top of the pipe, until you see a metal clamp. withthe system off, remove the clamp and pul out the sensor from the pipe and replace with a new 10k ohm temp sensor. NOTE: Older Jandy systems used black temp sensors, the new sensor may be slightly larger. use a masonry drill bit to bevel the old hole out for the new sensor, and replace the wires.

My Spa has a Balboa 500z Top side and control panel. It was running at 104 degrees and then one day it just shut down. The Circ pump won't start up at all and when I first turn on the power, I hear the...

Turn breaker power off. Verify now power to unit with volt meter. Most systems have in line over temp over current to protect circuit board and motor. Also the water level switch must be made to complete interlock condition. Check the heater coil for continuityas it may have opened. Check heater for continuity to each coil set. There is an interlock that is for diagnostics on start up that will prevent unit from starting. Look for any melted wires or components too. Always know and verify breaker settings. Verify your meter with known voltage reading first. Be safe my friend.

Dream maker spa x-400 won't shut off keeps heating. I have turned it off and let it tottaly cool down the temp max temp is set to 95 and it never shuts off until it gets to 105 and overheats.

I had the same problem last year, I talked to a spa guy and he stated that the temp sensor was probably covered in bio crud. He also stated that the tub should be cleaned with a hot tub flush. After doing that I have not had a problem with the temp settings.

I have an Aqualink system, spa set to 104, it will heat to 94 and stay there, temp sensor is working, took water sensor out of line, plugged line, assumed heater would just keep heating, it did heat a

The heater may be wired just fine. The aqualink uses its water temp sensor to call for heat based on what you've set the thermostat to on the aqualink. However, most heaters have built in thermostats that over-ride the aqualink. Those thermostats come factory defaulted not to go over 94. Check your heaters manual on how to adjust the thermostat on the heater. Your heater should have its thermostats set to 104 and the aqualink will control the actual temp of the water by calling for heat based on what you've set the thermostat on the aqualink for. Hope this helps.

Spa Heater problems- Balboa VS-501 controls #54356.

Use a high quality external temp probe and make sure the temp sensor in your system is correctly reading the water temp.
If the water is truly 110 then you may need to replace the board completely.
