CD/DVD Player will not take CD or DVD In All the Way

Each time I put a CD or DVD into my player, the CD/DVD seems to get caught on something and won't allow the CD to enter the player fully. It also cause a large amount of scratches on the outtermost edge of the CD when it has been ejected out. The CD never gets stuck in the player, but it also never has the ability to fully enter the player to allow the player to read it. Can you help?

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: dvd won,t eject

This is going to require opening the unit and taking the DVD unit covers off. If you feel confident and are good with tools and have a good memory (to remember how it all goes back together), you should be able to get the DVDs out. Just remember to be careful inside the unit, go slow and don't force anything. After the DVDs are out and you have the unit back together properly it should be OK if no damage was done to the laser assembly. Good luck.

SOURCE: DVD Stuck in player

Found out what my problem was - 2 DVDs were in the unit - need to take unit out of car (very easy - 5 mounting screws, 2 plug in power connections), remove some brackets from within the unit to get to the DVD itself and then just pull the DVD out - took me less than 1 hour - and I am not tech savvy or mechanically inclined by any means

SOURCE: Stuck dvd in dvd player

This is what LG customer service will instruct you to do. I have a LG LDA-511:

1. Unplug your unit.
2. After unplugging, wait a few seconds then press and hold the power button (yes, while the unit is unplugged). This resets the unit.
3. Plug in your unit.
4. Press the eject button.

If the disc does not come out, then you need service from an authorized service representative.

does there seem to be something obstructing the cd as you are trying to put it in? some inexpensive decks use cd transport screws on the top of the radio, and they need to be removed before a cd can be taken into the cd mechanism.

The player only intermittently recognizes CDs inserted; it does not seem to make any difference whether they are commercial, recorded at home, etc. Sometimes it says "insert disk," sometimes "no disk." ...

A CD tray is usually powered by a rubber strap, the belt can slip through, causing the electronics to miss the input timing, including a microswitch or copper contact which is activated at the closed disc tray so that the laser is focussed to read the table of contents Due to the fact that the spindle motor is activated. And in some players (interchanges there is also a selects witch that can be contaminated. a suggestion to help in the link

If the "bad" disks work fine in some other DVD-player, then it's time to spend $40 and buy a new DVD-writer.

Or, if your current DVD-player is under the manufacturer's warranty, exercise the warranty, to get it repaired/replaced.

Error C:31:00

It seems this sort of problem is very common with this player. The fix I have is pick the player up, rotate it 90° give it a very light nudge, and then put it back. This has fixed the problem on mine each and every time. It will come back, but just do it again. It's probably best to put the dvd player in an easy to reach place cos you'll need to do it often once it starts making the noises and error messages.
