Question about HP LaserJet 2300d Printer

Laserjet 2300d The printer has just started to produce horizontal light grey scum marks. The cartridge (original HP) is about 3 months old and has not given any trouble until now. The printer isn't high useage, the previous cartrisge lasted 3 years

Probally fuser needs replacing, they come out easy it is a the hot bit at rear, these just click out after removing rear door, upper heat roller will be marked if this is causing your problem


Another way to tell if it is crtridge or fuser (tt is one of these two) is to stop a print half way by opening cover when paper is halfway threw insides of printer (timeing, timeing). Then pull out cart see paper under it that is printed but not yet fused (rubs off) if no mark present then it gets on paper when it goes threw fuser, if mark is present then it is the cart.
