Question about GE Advantium 120 Convection/Microwave Oven

Intermittent reminder beeper won't shut off

Today I heated something in the microwave, no problem. Since removing the food, the reminder beeper which usually sounds intermittently every few seconds until the food is removed, will not shut off. I was unable to find any information about this in the manual. Any solution?

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

My microwave stopped working one day. A few times before it completely stopped working, the magnetron would pulse and then shut off. Now the only time it does that is when nothing is in the microwave. If...

If this is an older oven, or an oven that has heated a lot of popcorn, or other low water content foods, then you might be looking at a magnetron that has become intermittent. The symptoms you describe, however, do not match the symptoms you usually see with this type of failure.

Based on your description of the problem, I'd investigate the possibility of an intermittent power relay. The contacts on these eventually burn and sometimes don't make a good connection. After the contacts first close, there're is an initial surge of current that might make the relay functional for a second or two, and then the damaged contacts no longer make contact.

If you try to heat something for a minute , the microwave will turn on for about 15 seconds then shut off . It doesn't even seem to warm the food.

It may need a reset. You can do that by unplugging the power for a minute or two, then plugging it back in and setting the clock.

If it still fails, you may have a failing cooling fan or a problem on the control circuit board.

Microwave won't heat food

9 out of 10 times if all else is working then it is the magnatron rod that does the heating chances are it will be more expensive than to purchase a new microwave.

I have a Haier microwave and tonight after heating some food, I went to close the door and upon closing it, the carousel started turning and it won't shut off.

It sounds like one of the door switches has become defective, each must be disconnected on the one side and tested with a digital meter using the ohms scale.

Beeper wont shut off

Remove the power plug and Allow the voltage present on the board to drain OFF. After an hour please recheck and if the beep still stays there is fault in the motherboard. Possible that the beeper driver is short and is continuous. If all the other functions are working without any issues, all you can do is to cut off the beeper connection if you are able to remove the board and snip off . Attempt with power plug removed .

I want to stop the end bip reminder signal on my microwave.

Does the owner's manual show that as an option?

If no, you'll have to remove the beeper or cut a circuit board trace to it.

If you don't have the manual, contact Danby Customer Service US / Canada.

Microwave stopping working

check the fuse on the microwave. if its busted, something shorted out in the oven that tripps off your breaker. it could be your inverter.
