Re: wirelesss settings problem
First I would unplug the wireless and look at the back for a reset button , usually a paper clip will poke in there to do the job . Then re-connect the router and open up the internet page on your computer and on the address bar , type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 , this should bring you to the router control panel . The default password and user name is .... admin ... Then set up as you desire ! happy surfin !

To reset your Linksys BEFW11S4 router to the factory default settings:
Hold the reset button on the back panel of the Linksys router for 30 seconds. All your settings will be lost including WEP encryption information, MAC Address filtering information, and any SSID information you have entered. The router password will revert to the default of Admin and all user name information will be removed.
When you access the router utility to change the router settings from the default values, be sure to leave the User name field blank and enter admin in the Password field.
The wifi name you are referring to is called SSID, service set identifier. You can change that by logging onto your routers Web based utility. Open your web browser and type in 192.168.0.1 and it will ask you for a user name and password. If you keep the default user name and password the user name should be admin and the password is blank, meaning there is no password set up. After logging on, click on top tab "Setup" and on the side menu "Wireless". You should be able to change the SSID by typing in a new name in the field "Wireless Network Name". Make sure you save the changes! This should then change the name.

If you have changed the default password, you need to reset the router to the factory settings to get in with the default user and password (user admin and password as password, or if that doesn't work try 1234 - these are the default password for NetGear routers). Note that you will lose the ISP settings and wireless settings when you reset the router.

press win key + r under run type cmd on the command prompt type ipconfig not down your defaut gateway. type it in your web browser, and then enter the correct user name and password for the router.(i u dont know the user name leave it blank or try admin for both user name and password or its combination o call dell for it) Create a unique password on your router : Once you have logged into your router, the first thing you should do to secure your network is to change the default password* of the router to something more secure. This will prevent others from accessing the router and you can easily maintain the security settings that you want. You can change the password from the Administration settings on your router’s settings page. The default values are generally admin / password. Change your Network’s SSID name: The SSID (or Wireless Network Name) of your Wireless Router is usually pre-defined as "default" or is set as the brand name of the router (e.g., linksys). Although this will not make your network inherently* more secure, changing the SSID name of your network is a good idea as it will make it more obvious for others to know which network they are connecting to.
This setting is usually under the basic wireless settings in your router’s settings page. Once this is set, you will always be sure that you are connecting to the correct Wireless network even if there are multiple wireless networks in your area. Don’t use your name, home address or other personal information in the SSID name.
This is sufficient to secure your router from other to use it.
Hello, The default address for the dell truemobile 1184 is 192.168.2.1 If you have changed it and forgot, unplug the router (elec) for 5 seconds. This will reset it to default. you need to get into the routers settings and look in the menu for security and select atleast WEP security and either you type a password in to reveal a 8 digit code or type in your own mixture of numbers and letters, which will then have to be entered into each pc when they try to connect.
You can also look in the SSID and remove the name or dissable SSID so as your network will not appear on anybody elses wireless searches.
