Hi there.
Yes it can be fixed easily but a Technician has to do the job as they will have to solder another adapter onto the laptop motherboard, which means complete disassembly of the laptop.
If you still have warranty i recommend you take advantage of that and send it in.
If you have no warranty then a reputable PC repair shop/store should be able to do the job for you within 48 hours and should be fairly cheap.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

My hp netbook wont turn on, what shoud i do?..

Here below are possible causes and troubleshooting steps of laptop that can't power on, hope it may help:
Possible causes:

1. AC adapter failure.
2. Power jack failure.
3. Motherboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solutions:
1. Test the AC adapter with a digital multimeter. It's possible that you have a failed AC adapter. If you don't have a multimeter, test your laptop with another known good AC adapter.

2.It's possible that power jack (socket where you plug the AC adapter) is broken. Remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

3. If replacing the AC power adapter and jack on the motherboard doesn't help, most likely you have a bad motherboard. Replace the motherboard.

Is not charging battery

If the laptop works with the AC Adapter Power Cord ok without any problems except the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life, then they have to be replaced.

If the laptop does not work with the AC Adapter Power Cord then either the Power Cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. If either of these is bad, a good battery will not charge.

Check your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

The battery might be dead. Batteries only have a useful life and after that they have to be replaced.

Does your laptop work ok off the AC Adapter Power Cord? If so, your battery is dead and your power cord is good. If the laptop does not work off the Power Cord then either your Power Cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. In either case a good battery will not charge if the power cord or the DC Jack is bad.

Power in center pin hp g62

What is the center pin??

Would you by chance be talking about the DC Power Jack where the Power Cord plugs into the laptop? If so, then see the steps below if your laptop is not booting and you think the DC Jack is your problem.

Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. My new laptop battery is not charging

Maybe the battery is bad. Just because it's new does not mean it will work.

Does your laptop power on and work with the AC Adapter and Power Cord? If not, that is why your battery is not charging. You need a New AC Adapter & Power Cord or the DC Jack where the Power Cord plugs into the laptop is bad or broken.

The battery on my laptop stopped charging, but was working for a over a week, then it was acting funny and slow.. I shut down moved to another room and it won't boot up! The light doesn't come on...

I think your power cord is bad. It probably was not charging the battery at all and so now all your battery power has drained since you were running on it. Once the battery power is drained and if the AC Adapter Power Cord is not working the computer will not boot because it has no power source.

Some AC Adapter & Power Cords have lights on them to let you know when it is plugged in if it is working. Normally when you plug the power cord in the laptop somewhere on the laptop lights up to let you know it is receiving power. Sometimes the light is where you plug it in, sometimes at the front of the laptop or right above the keyboard area.

I thing you need a power cord. And don't settle for one of the one size fits all (with a removable tip designed to fit any laptop) that the big box stores will sell you.

If your power cord is good and the laptop is not receiving power then the problem could be your DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the computer.

HP G50-111NR went dead while booting up. Now it will not turn on. Lighting bolt blinks three times when power botton pushed.

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.
