There's an internal fuse - about 20 Amps. It usually blows when the magnetron dies. Unplug the unit from the wall and access the internals. You should plainly see the fuse holder - remove and check the fuse. Spares are available at any ACE hardware store. If the unit is more than 5 years old, I wouldn't mess with it.

This may not blow the new fuse, and even if it does it may not be the magnetron at fault. A problem with the interlock switches can blow the fuse upon plugging into the outlet, or when the door is opened. The switches are cheap, and can be found through an appliance servicer.

No! there is no reset, the problem is caused by one or more door swiches that have become defective, or the keypad control board a possibility.

Microwave is arking is there a solution?

Hi!!
Unplug unit from wall outlet and remove the two screws on each of the bottom sides to remove the metal cover, check wiring insulation and for a loose or disconnected wire. Check on the inside of the cover for burnt marks, that will give you an idea of where the problem may be. Use needle nose pliers to handle and plug wire terminal back up.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

No power

Hello :

It seems that there's a problem with the power transformer or the power PCB [ printed circuit board ] . Or it could be just a fuse . You need to check first . If it's the fuse , then that will be easy to solve , you need only to replace it with new one . But if the problem is with the transformer or with the PCB , you need to take your microwave to the service for repairing .

good luck .

Turns on but doesn't heat only a year old LG LRM1260SW 1200 Watts Microwave Oven

I have had the LG model lrm1260sw microwave for 3 years. Recently it quit heating. I found the problem was the soldered grounding lug connection on the power transformer had lost circuit continuity and failed. One of the secondary coils on the power transformer, red wire / bare copper wire, is connected to ground / chassis. I cleaned the lug connection and added a length of wire twisted together with the bare copper coil wire and soldered to the grounding lug. I then grounded the extra added length of wire to another chassis ground point. Make sure the transformer to chassis mounting screws are tight also. Now the microwave oven works like new again.

LG microwave no longer heats!

It sounds as though you may have run the microwave while empty, which can damage the magnetron.

Not that I'm optimistic, but the first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Otherwise it likely needs a new magnetron.
